Anyone know how many items sell per minute? I know there is 12 coins per item, but how many items make this 12 coins?
initial thoughts The original Tiny Tower was the first iPod game that I ever really got addicted to... I'm happy that Nimblebit decided to make a major refresh, but I'm not 100% happy about all the changes. Here are my overall thoughts: I really like the Vegas-style mission system instead of the older missions. And finding a person is no longer modal; you can do other things while looking. I was initially annoyed at the changes made to floor levels, item quantities, and stocking times. I had gone to great lengths in the original game to upgrade all my floors so that they would stock at regular times (exactly 4 hours, 6 hours, 8 hours, etc.) Depending on the starting point, some floors were upgraded to as high as level 61 and others still at level 1. Now all that got reset, but the saving grace is the STOCK ALL button. Now it doesn't matter so much what the stock times are because you no longer have to scroll through the entire tower. Fortunately, I read some of the beta comments before the release, so I built all 32 new floors and upgraded all my existing floors to level 10 if they weren't already, prior to the upgrade. I had about 800 million coins and only spent a little less than 200 million to get all the new floors. When the update came out, I chose the floor type and then waited 4.5 days until they were all finished. I'm glad I did that before the update! Not impressed at the rebalanced costs. If I want a new bitizen to move in to an empty apartnent slot, that's 230 bux. And for that expense, I have a 7:1 chance of getting a dream job worker for a new floor, or 70:1 for a level 9 dream jobber. And those odds get worse as I get closer to getting all 420 dream job workers. I really like the bitizen gifting feature, but it looks like that is pretty much the only way you can get all your dream jobs unless you grind forever. This changes the game significantly, to rely much more on the social aspect. I prefer these types of games to be more casual. Very puzzled at the decision to make golden tickets earned by destroying your tower. That is contrary to the whole point of a building game! I spent so many hours into getting 360 dream job citizens for my previously completed tower, there is no way I am deleting that! My solution is to start a second game on another device. I will probably re-start that one to get golden tickets so that I can send gifts back to my original game, which is mostly "on hold" now. Elevator costs are outrageous. It was disappointing to see that the maximum elevator in the original game was "rebalanced" to a slower speed, but then I have to spend 8100 bux to improve it by less than 3%? No thanks. I saw that my list of friends was initially populated with a handful of players; perhaps from Tiny Tower Vegas data? My code is 153N for the new game!
Just like Vegas I presume: First item is 1 coin per purchase, so 12 items per minute. Second item is 2 coins per purchase, so 6 items sold per minute. And third item is 3 coins per purchase, so 4 items sold per minute.
I think I'm going to delete my tower to switch to the 50-floor golden ticket playstyle. BUT, is it worth saving up for 2 more floors to get another golden ticket? I'd need about 30M coins. How much would it cost me to build 50 floors from scratch? Anybody know what the new construction cost calculation may be? According to the wiki it used to be 150*floor^2.
Update 3.0.2 says "reduction in new floor costs" AFAIK, I don't see any reduction in my next floor cost either on my 38 floors tower or on the 64 floors one :? I tried kill the app/relaunch and rebooting the device.
It was reduced, just not by anything significant. For example, pre update, my next floor (132) would have cost 9.77M, now it is 9.63M. Don't think they did themselves any favors listing that as a change in the "what's new" in the update notes, just going to get themselves a bunch of reduced ratings on the App Store all over again.
Wow, so some people are upset about golden tickets. Really?! You're telling me that you were excited to watch your completed tower just exist in an updated version, and you're not going to rebuild and start over and play again. Really!?! No, you were all going to reset and play again, and Nimblebit made a great system rewarding that. Not to mention rewarding unlimited replayability. I've seen people quit the game because of the golden ticket system, which makes me ask again REALLY!?!?! If you're THAT ocd that you can't handle your tower stocks to be different 5 years later, because the developers wanted to overhaul their game (which they didn't have to btw) then I think you need actual, professional help. The reason it costs so much to move someone in now is because if you have many friends and you request workers you'll get upwards of 10 dream jobbers in a day (at least for me.) Reading this "backlash" to this update is just pathetic. These guys took their already great game and made it even better. Everyone complaining needs to give their head a good shake. Nimblebit FOREVER
Is there any benefit to me for sending bitizens to friends? It costs 5 bux even when they request them and I don't see the point...
Because it's nice, and most players keep notice if you send them a requested Bitizen, and will send you Bitizens you need back ? I try to add as friend those who send me a Bitizen I need. I have a look at their towers every now and then to send them a useful Bitizen, even if they have not requested him/her. I'm still unsure if the friend code adding is one way or both ways. I see old GC friends who don't look like they're playing anymore, and people I added. Also 5 Bux is pretty cheap in the new TT economy, a find and seek mission gets you 40 Bux if you have 29 floors for instance. @Nimblebit : It would be useful to have an "Add friend" button when you receive a gifted Bitizen from someone you don't have on your friend list btw.
No way! It's nothing to do with the existence of golden tickets, (except that they're a poor incentive, imo,) it's the new economy. It'd take me years to rebuild. On the one hand, with the data lost to bugs, it doesn't feel exactly like 'my' tower anymore anyway, but I can't see myself caring about this game again. If they released TT2 (or TT4, depending on how you view it) I'd sign right up, but I couldn't re-do this one. I think what I actually logged in to comment on was that my first seven new floors finished building out today, and they're just floors from Vegas. I guess that makes sense, because the rest of the update seemed to be mashing the old tower into the Vegas system, but I thought it was kind of disappointing. I'm pro-nimblebit, but as you say, baldeagle86, they didn't need to do this. ETA: I guess I mean, they didn't need to do this FOR ME, or probably most existing players. It may well have been the best solution for future-proofing the game and making it available to new folks.
I still don't understand. You're upset because you have to play the game again, from the start? Isn't that what you'd want to do after 5 years? Or you just want to stare at your already completed tower, and that's it? Also I think the golden ticket is a great incentive. Using one on any floor brings in crazy amounts of money, especially with the full stock / big spender combo. There could just be a "reset" button that does nothing but reset your tower.
I added you to my friends list but I don't know if you added me manually? I know I'm on your friends list because you sent me a yellow ranger golf sim bitizen after I sent you something. I haven't had friends appear in my list, they have been only ones I added. No one else has sent anything but I don't have room anyway. Anyway thanks for the 99999 yellow ranger. I posted a thanks on bitbook and I know that comes up if both are mutual friends but not sure if it's just one way
I'm really enjoying the update so far, currently have 23 floors. Just itching to get 50 so I can start again. I always get to a point in games I play (such as Hay Day) where I'd love to start over again without losing my progress. Nimblebit has given us the best of both worlds! Add me if you need another friend: 4G7D #
I second this as well. I myself was also a long-time player of Tiny Tower which spent more than a year to build up the great tower i had. The past efforts to build up those floors, all gone. It held sentimental value too, as i had crazily upgraded commercial floors as well as bitizens with great stats (some of which i still remember their names). I get that there is a feature to view your past towers before you "prestige" (those who played Tap Titans will understand where i'm coming from ), but it's currently very limited. You can only view the tower as it is, you can't zoom in on each of the commercial and residential floors. This means that you can't view the commercial floor levels and which bitizens are inside each residential floor, and of course this also means you can't see the details of each bitizen. Just seeing the height and the stars on your past towers isn't enough especially when you spent more than a year to build such a tall tower. If this feature was improved, i think some of us here wouldn't mind to "prestige". But there's sort of a way to bring your old tower back to life. You can download a pre-3.0 version of Tiny Tower, and install it into another device (which you don't currently use to play the new Tiny Tower). Then start the app and choose to restore your tower and it should restore your former glorious tower (and not to mention, commercial floors which you have upgraded beyond level 10 will also reflect properly). I did this for my iTouch 4G, since it couldn't support the new Tiny Tower anyway (the new TT requires iOS 7.0 or above), and all is well so far. I'm currently playing the new update on 2 devices. The first one is my main device which i will use to "prestige" over and over again to get those golden tickets again and build the new ultimate tower. The second one simply feeds the first one with golden bitizens. Basically, on the second one, i'll "prestige" it only once to get one golden ticket, and then leave it at the 3 floors just after the tutorial. I'll upgrade the residential floor to golden, and use it to supply these bitizens since the chances of a bitizen going into the residential floor is very high with such a short tower. That's in theory, not sure how well it'll work so far. I heard that gifting bitizens requires Bux? That might be a problem to get a good supply of Bux to continue gifting bitizens. Also, i'm wondering: If i gift a bitizen wearing a costume that is not yet unlocked on the receiving end, will the receiving unlock that costume when it receives this bitizen? Oh, btw, i wonder if anyone noticed, but the more gold tickets you have, the more time cut off for each bitizen that goes to a commercial floor that is restocking a product. Every golden ticket allows each bitizen to cut off an additional minute to the restocking time. E.g. 5 Golden tickets make a bitizen cut 6 minutes off the restocking time.
Wow, great catch, never noticed. Can confirm that with my 7 tickets it drops 8 minutes everytime. About restarting, i am going the same way, have a feeder tower that i check whenever i can, actually wrote down my strategy here or beta thread before (cant remember which). I send requested bitizens whenever i can, even if they are not 9 skilled. So Person i send can evict it if only needed a 9 bitizen. And finally, want to resend my code for ppl who have spare slots for friends. 110G
Agreed! Somebody new sent me a Warren Buffet employee today but I didn't catch the friend code. So thanks to whoever that was!
I was gifted a bitizen wearing a costume I hadn't already unlocked. Once I moved them into an apartment the costume unlocked.
I'm not upset. I'm just done. I beat the game. I got my $0 worth of entertainment out of this game I played for a year plus. I spent an even longer amount of time playing TT: Vegas and now that's done. Now I'm playing Tiny Death Star and when that's complete I will be able to stop playing that one too. If the update took the form of new stuff, I'd jump back in and play until I collected it all, just like I did with the various updates in the past. And probably, I'll chip away at a floor a week until I add this new stuff to my tower, but it's not that exciting to me to be getting these Vegas versions of floors I already have. I applaud the folks who want to set up towers on multiple devices to farm DJs, but I don't need that. The golden tickets are like getting a discount on a book I read 5 years ago.
