I sort mine because it allows me to easily find a certain business. If it's all mixed together, i have to either go by memory or scroll through all my businesses.
Anyone else think NimbleBit should put in advertising floors? They could have a partnership. For example, Best Buy, or maybe even a game-themed floor like Pocket Frogs. They would design the floor, with the Best Buy logo and all, and put it in the game possibly as a premium floor. Maybe when we make a new floor, they could add a 'Premium' option, and we could pay a few tower bux to make that floor. Or, they could just simply put it as a new random floor. The premium floors could also attract more consumers to the Tiny Tower, as big name stores usually do. It could also have a few other bonuses like more stock, faster stocking time, ect. There could also be an option once you click on the floor which redirects you to Best Buy's app/website, and in return you get a few tower bux. Daily, maybe? In the end, I'm looking at this opportunity in NimbleBit's point of view. This could be a great secondary source of income for them without making us players look at ugly ad-space. Instead, we get awesome floors that improve our tower as a whole. Its a win-win situation. I just feel a little bad for my little Mapple store if they have to compete against Apple!
It's probably more advantageous to have similar stock/time business together, since they will typically all need stocking at the same time. It'll save scrolling through all of the floors to find which ones need to be restocked. I haven't done so myself yet, but will probably work on that next. http://towers.nimblebit.com/199039349
I ended up doing this so that if I found a dream jobber it was easier to go to that "area" of the tower to find the business as opposed to me searching all over before. I think it really only matters when the floors become overwhelming to you. But I do have the volleyball and the racquetball right next to one another and they have the exact same stock times. I got them on the same schedule so I feel like I get a twofer in the stocking. It's going to be up to personal preference and how much you want to search and what you can deal with yourself. I don't think there is a right answer is what I am saying.
The Celebrity VIP should be removed or boosted (like the Real State agent was). If used at maximum eficience (delivering it to a floor that has only tier 3 products), it will produce a gain of 150 coins. Taking anyone to a floor higher that 75 gives more money than that, so the Celebrity worse than any simple bitzen trying to go to your 80th floor... This really makes no sense...
I've had a few issues after the upgrade. 1. I have had a couple of shops remain vacant even though there are three bitzens employed in them. Tiny Tops (hat store) for example. Everything works fine it's just that the bitzens never appear in them. 2. Viewing from the web does not show all of my costumes. Whole Hog (BBQ) for example has three employees with the Piggy costume. From the web they are dressed in their old green outfit. (Other changes have shown on the web since changing to the piggy outfits) None of these are game breakers since everything still seems to work as it should. Oh, here is my tower.
Sorry, but did you name your Casino after what happened in Monterrey, Mexico three weeks ago or so???
Oh, sorry then... So, the Casino in Monterrey was named after the movie also... I don't know why the most obvious reason didn't pop in my head! My apologies
I did mine because I dressed my Bitizens in the color of their job type. Made the find-a-bitizen game easier as I only needed to search one section and the apts. http://towers.nimblebit.com/128877240
Organized tower and tips OK, here is my tower which is organized. http://towers.nimblebit.com/102371329 Here are a few tips that I have learned: Apartments at the bottom because I tend to move people in and out to find dream jobs so they don't need to travel in the elevator for too long. business floors are sorted based on the stock quantity of the 3rd item. I only stock the 3rd item normally because it makes the most money and keeps the floor in unstock mode the longest making it easier to move dream jobbers in when I find them I named the businesses with the first character indicating how many dream jobbers I have, making it easy to see which ones still need filling. Also by starting with a number, when I get a new tenant, I can see immediately if I have that floor without thinking. Second character is the business type - not needed as I can see by the colour The last number of the name of the floor is the total stock for stock 3 in hundreds. This lets me know the high value stocks for the big spender. Also easier to sort. When I get a Big Spender VIP, I go to my bottom business floor which will have the highest 3rd stock item and see how full it is. I take that number and move up 1 floor at a time comparing until the number is higher the the max 3rd stock of the floor I'm on. This maximized the big spender bonus. Also because I only ever stock the 3rd item, big spenders always buy that one. Once you get to about 70 floors, you can use a bux to move people in and there is a 50% chance of getting a dream jobber which has a return of 2 bux, so overall, but moving tenants in at this level I'm earning bux pretty fast. When I move new dream jobbers into floors with already 3 dream jobbers, I look to see who has the next birthdate and keep them, increasing the chance of a bonus bux. I evict the one with latest date, unless it has a lower skill than existing tenants. Floors without 3 dream jobbers, I keep at the top. touching the top of the screen provides quick movement to those floors because they require more maintenance to move tenants in and out to stock. Also by sorting with the lowest stock at the top, the quick access via touching the top of the screen allows me to replenish them quicker. By sorting this way, it also allows you to replenish as a group because floors will expire at the same time next to one another I use costumes of the same type only once per floor Using costumes in this way makes it easier to do the "where's waldo" minigame, because I just remember that Detectives are in the Private Eye floor which has the most stock which will be the first floor above the apts. before bed, I sometimes have every floor stock the 2nd item, so when I wakeup there is a full wave of transactions starting. I then just let the 2nd stock item empty and only stock item 3 for the rest of the day. Hope these tips help others. I'd be interested in your tips as well. Thanks!
Done it at last Thanks nimblebit .. I've finally finished. You did a wonderful job of fixing the problem on older iPods. (http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?p=1836828#post1836828) I even stopped cheating using the time cheat, and kept my ipod running Tiny Tower for about 6 weeks straight. And I have all 255 Bitizens in their ideal job.. w00t. I can't unlock a few of the achievements, but I'm not worried about them. Awesome game - loving the cute bitizens outfits. Well done on an awesome title. Simon
Grats! Also in the spirit of pixellated 8 bit gaming, I assume getting a 256th dream job would cause an integer overflow =P EDIT: I should have waited one more page before making that joke
Withdrawal Here's my tale. Last week my tower had 129 floors and most, but not all, of the businesses in the categories I like: Creative and Service. And I had grown weary of playing, so thought I would quit cold turkey. Just tired of tending the game, as I've tired eventually of all games that require frequent tending, even the best ones like TT and Pocket Frogs. But it's hard to give up on a game one has devoted so many hours to! So I decided to (1) only build Creatives and Service, and (2) to do this by stocking only third tier items across the board. Good bucks and I only check in twice a day. Up to 132 floors now, letting construction complete in it's own time. Of course the only way to get Bux is by shuffling dream jobbers, but as I ease my way into the sunset, I don't need Bux anymore.
Here's my Tiny Tower: http://towers.nimblebit.com/161106173 It's fairly well organized, and I quite like some of the names I've chosen. Others I'm less happy with, but that's okay. I'm enjoying this game so far. Never got into "Pocket Frogs" but I'm really enjoying my Tiny Tower. My cats also love to watch my bitizens moving across the screen on my iPad.
Really like your tower. Probably since our towers closely mirror each other, plus I use puns for a lot of my tower names as well. I am putting off linking mine till I am caught up.
