Looks like it might have had a problem uploading your tower data. Hopefully in a few hours when it tries again it will succeed.

Still working out some technical stuff, sorry!

I'm currently having a major issue with the game. It occasionally will not continue running when I'm away from the game (i.e. when I return to the game, I make marginal gains in coins). This is NOT an issue where I do not sell anything at all. However, it seems like when I quit the game, the stores will sell for a couple minutes, and then stop. Whenever coming back to the game, I will ALWAYS gain around 10-20K in coins, and no more. It is especially obvious overnight, when I still have made just marginal gains over that 8 hour period when I'm sleeping. Note that this is an OCCASIONAL problem though, it happens randomly and sometimes I do get a reasonable amount of coins for the time I have been away. However, it is still hindering my progress in the game.

    Any solutions?

So you come back and it still has the welcome back popup, but the number of coins it says you earned seems too low?

Yes. It has the "Welcome back. While you were away you received XX,XXX coins" or something like that. However, the number of coins I've earned is too low, and the stock numbers all appear as if they have changed barely since the last time I was in the game.

So basically, the shops seem to be selling even after I quit the app, but only for a short amount of time.

So the way it works is that it records the time at which you leave the app, then when you come back it takes the current time and calculates the total time you've been gone from the app. Then it simulates how many sales would have occurred over that period.

Calculating the time away from the app is very straightforward and shouldn't be the cause unless the Date & Time settings are changing in between. I'll have to take a look at the simulation code to see if there might be something in there than can sometimes simulate less sales than it should.

I should also mention I'm running an iPod Touch 2nd generation, and I'm not sure if it's the age of my device, but the game requires TWO startups to successfully load. The first time I load the app, it crashes, and I have to tap the app again for it to open successfully. Maybe there is a problem happening during that first crash on loadup.

Then again, this is only an occasional thing, not every time, so I don't know. The full details can be found here.

Thanks for detailing your crash problem, I'm pretty sure it is memory related (which I'm hoping is improved in this update). This could be causing an issue as it might not be able to save the "away time" when the game crashes on startup. Although then it wouldn't pop up a welcome back message on the next startup which it does seem to be doing... I'll continue to dig.

On a related note, I run on an iPhone 4, JB 4.1, and I have to restate it twice whenever I boot it up.

Then maybe it's not memory related, but JB-related? Because my device is jailbroken as well.

Just wondering, is there a slight chance that I would earn a few more coins overnight if I was to keep the app running constantly, rather than having it run in the background?

There would probably be a difference but I wouldn't expect for it to be significant.

What are the new businesses? I know Security Office is one of them.

Ok thanks a lot. Still playing this game non stop every day. You've made an incredibly fun and addictive game. The only possible way I can see you improve it is to enable a stock count check whenever we want so we can see what's running low etc but sounds like you won't be adding that :(

OH is this true? Only 1 per category? Oh what a relief if so! I really want more, don't get me wrong, but I was getting SO close to having them all (not really at 14 each, but that seemed like an accomplishment!)
