I totally agree. Even more, in this case, I think Nimblebit is being so generous with the sources of bux: elevator tips, full stocking, finding bitzens, new floors.... There are plenty of ways to get them.
If I understand correctly: that means it doesn't matter which stores you level up. All that matters is the total number of times you've leveled up a store. Which means there's no reason to level one store over another. Except for the small convenience of evening out some of your restocking times, just to make it slightly more convenient to restock efficiently.
Yes, it's a linear equation. The insight is to figure out in what business it is worthier to increase the stocks. For me, I find it more useful to increase level in low stock business (like most of food businesses, video rental, barber shop, etc.) that require more frequent re-stocking and often run out of stock if it takes me some time to get back to the game. In large stock business (like auto dealer or private eye) the 75 stock increase is marginal.
I have used the increase to add more stock to some of my food stores. 15 stock was silly but I got a dream jobber for it and added the 75 stock as well so 15 stock turned into 180 stock for the price of 3 bux
I really don't see the value of increasing the stocking levels. Three bux at maximum exchange value are worth 6000 coin. Increasing the stocking level makes a fully stocked store worth only 450 coin more, and that value is only realized if you fully stock all levels and then assume you won't restock until the entire store is sold out (such as if you let the game run overnight). If you're actively playing, there's little benefit, since you can ensure that businesses stay stocked. It also doesn't factor that increasing stock levels reduces the frequency of the bux bonus for a fully stocked store. Overall, I think that bux are far better used to ensure that businesses have dream job employees, because that has a vastly bigger effect on stock levels. Three bux would let you evict and rent an apartment slot three times, which is pretty good odds to find a dream job for a larger tower.
According to a post a read from Nimblebit, included in this thread, they wrote that a bug fix would be available soon. Hopefully that means Monday.
I am still loving this game. I showed it to the girlfriend, it got her off tiny zoo but now tiny tower is her new addiction! W are racing to see who can build the highest tower. Is there a limit on height? and what's the highest someone has built so far?
I've never posted in this thread before, and I've only downloaded Tiny Towers a few days ago, so please excuse me if my question ends up being the same as one that was asked previously. I'm wondering what the best level to upgrade my business' to is, so that the stocking frequency is slower but not too horrible. I'm afraid of upgrading my business' because there is no way of reallocating points or undoing an upgrade. (Possible feature Nimblebit?) Preferably checking once a day would be best. Any bit of help is great. My tower is currently 22 floors tall. Thanks.
You don't spend points to upgrade a business' level, you spend bux. Bux are a renewable resource so it can't hurt to "make a mistake" by leveling up any business. I have read that the Creative business are the most profitable so I always level those up. Welcome to the game Feel free to add me to your friends list... I think trying to beat the next guy in line is half the fun of the game.
Is it me or is the coins generating faster again? Maybe it's been so long since I've seen it normally I might have just got used to the new slow count but it looks quite quick again although my sales per minute is 270 so can't be right.
Oops. I meant reallocating *levels*. Like downgrading a level 10 to 9 in order to upgrade a different business from 1 to 2 for example. Even though bux are renewable, if you accidentally level a business too far up, you are permanently forced to deal with long stocking times. It can't be undone. And I'd love to add you to game center, but unfortunately I downloaded TT using the wrong account (my sister's), and there is no way to move it over. Edit: Did some investigation, and it appears each level increases stocking time by 5 minutes. Not sure if this is for every single business.
Actually that would technically be only 1 TB because adding a DJ these days gives you 2 bux back, so an even sweeter deal Loving the game and the updates, Ian. Keep it up! P.S. I'm currently on 88 floors and saving up for the 499TB elevator. The rate at which I can build floors has decreased slightly, but I'm sure it will be worth it!
Just to advise I have found an issue with text size/wrap in the BitBook (Bitizen's post clashes with time since post was made). Might be something that can be fixed in a future update...
Just to be clear here: NO business is more profitable than another one. Tier 3 products sell for 3 coins, for a profit of 2.4 coins adjusted for related aptitude and dream jobber discounts and stock effects. Tier 2 products sell for 2 coins, for a profit of 1.4 coins adjusted... and so on. Whether it's a Pub or Doctors Office, the actual profit is a strictly linear equation based on X coins in generating Y coins out with the only variables being employee aptitude and dream job status. What people tend to think of as more "profitable" are those businesses that stay in stock with the least effort because they're more likely to be up and running generating revenue as opposed to sold out and sitting there fallow. Creative class businesses tend to have high stock levels, so they tend toward creating revenue more than Food class businesses. In other words, you have it exactly backward. Leveling up a business that is usually open without leveling is a waste of bux. You should be leveling up those businesses that are always closed down when you come back to the game.
Yes, it's for every single business and product: it increases stock levels by 75 in each tier. Each item takes 4 seconds to create, so add 75 items and you've added 300 seconds, or 5 minutes.
Thanks very, very much for confirming that. Using that information, I created a list of "maximum" levels for each of my business floors- so that each floor takes about three hours at the longest to restock (that's not including my Mapple Store and Pottery Studio). So question answered!
Hi All, As I have NOT updated TT for a while, can some kind souls explain to me what does the latest updates contains? 1) Bux for dreamjobbers = 2 instead of 3 2) How much bux does it cost to upgrade business' capacity? 3) What about customising your bitzens? How much bux will that cost? Or is it using coins? 4) What about renaming your business? How much bux will that cost? Or is it using coins? Still saving up for my elevator before upgrading... Trying to work out if I should save up more before updating the game...
Are any of the following bugs addressed in the upcoming update: 1. Game crashes on load screen for older devices. This can be simply solved by quitting the app after 10-15 seconds on the load screen, and immediately restarting it again, but I'd like to be able to load this game without this hassle. 2. Apparently for everyone else, costumed bitizens that move in keep their costumes. But for me, costumed bitizens lose their costumes and wear regular outfits when they move in. 3. Occasionally, after a Real Estate VIP moves bitizens in, when I exit from the floor's occupant screen, the game becomes unresponsive to my touch controls.
I'm OCD - how have you guys organised the tower? Residential at the bottom and everything else in order from bottom up?
