I hate it to quote myself: Could someone who has the game installed before the "sale" please answer this simple question? Thanks a lot in advance. I need that information because I want to know if this game is recommended or not. Is it now Freemium or not?
I'm not sure what to say, it's not as simple as it would first seem, at least to me. I've had the game a few months ago and have never seen any IAPs though I haven't complete the game yet. Royal Rescue is the fourth world and the other is the fifth so it would suggest there are at least three free worlds - more than it would take to recommend this beauty. When I look for the IAPs on the UK AppStore, the only ones show as the fifth world and hints (which are utterly pointless and would ruin it for me) there was an update for it a few days ago that apparently only contained but fixes. The only thing I can imagine is that the game may be heading towards to freemium but isn't yet so it would be a good bet to get it now. There's a restore purchases option on the menu of my game but I haven't seen any way to make a purchase besides hints so maybe not. Either way, I hugely recommend it
Thanks, Pete! It seems that there are IAPs listed in the store but in fact there aren't any inside the game itself. I've got another reply in the main thread: So this perfect puzzle game is highly recommended! (And I'd love to care more about gameplay and design than about some existent or non-existent marketing strategies.)
There were no IAP's in the game when it was first released. I breezed through the levels, solving all of them, and moved this game to my "completed" folder and forgot about it. I had 3-starred all the available levels, though the first and second levels of the first area only had 1 star available. When I opened the game today, the second level of the first area had 3 stars available, of which I had only gotten one. So they definitely updated the game with more content and/or to make it more difficult at some point. Plus the IAP's. I've now completed and 3-starred everything (finished the missing 2 stars just now) and I don't see any IAP staring me in the face, so it doesn't appear to be intrusive to someone who owned the game earlier is the best I can say.
Glad I'm not the only one to get confused about it, luckily it turned out to be the more positive option! When you hear that IAPs have sprung up in a premium game you start to think the worst! Anyone still on the edge should dive in. Started playing again after checking for the IAPs and absolutely remember why I loved it in the first place!
I still have the game installed and haven't updated yet but I can surely tell you there are no IAPs!!! NO IAPs!!!
I believe the IAP were there before. I never used hints. I'm pretty sure you got some free the. Had to pay if you wanted more. IAP is not in your face. As for the level 5 purchase... I don't know. I have level 5 beat. I go it when I ouch weed the game. The IAP will not ruin this game or even make itself noticeable from what I can tell. I loaded it again post update, I'd still suggest it as a great little game. Cheers.
I have the game installed without the update and can't find any IAP. I haven't gotten that far into it, bought it and played a little bit a while back. The game is fantastic. It would be nice to get a confirmation if IAP have been added. If so, no updating for me.
Despite purchasing this shortly after t came out I put off playing it. When I got mg new 4S I thought I'd install it and give it some time. Did install it but didn't give it any time. I did the update, and the. It goes free. Considering the questions here I figured what the heck I'd play it. The only IAP I see in it is on the hint thing that shows up in the top right of the level. Once you use up the free hints (which are really full level solutions) you can buy more or wait 24h for another free one. AppStore shows IAP for the 4th and 5th areas. In my game it shows that I just need stars and there's no IAP to unlock it early or anything. Maybe this is because I upgraded from an old version even though I hadn't even opened the game. I'll play it to the point of unlocking the 4th area. I've already perfected the first two so I just need 12 more stars. So more later
Ok, finished the third world and was short two stars and it showed the option on the fourth world to pay money to unlock. So I guess this is cheat IAP for those that for whatever reason find the game too hard and can't wait 24hr between getting a level guide/hint. Nothing really bad at all... Though it makes me wonder if they ever finish the sixth world if that'll be unlock able by just playing the game. Edit For two more stars and the 4th level unlocked. So no shenanigans with the IAP.
This is a wonderful find. It reminds me of the best puzzles in Monkey Island (and in later levels the theme too). The attention to detail on each level and he animations, both during and between, are charming. It doesn't feel like an angry birds style grind but an adventure split into travel friendly stages.
Thank you very much for all of your coverage on IAPs in Tiny Thief, nightc1 (and all the others)! Very appreciated informations. It seems you enjoyed playing it for a second time. Part of the puzzle in Tiny Thief: Find the IAPs! Still highly recommended! Don't miss that, folks! Excellent game!
Help me spend money! Can someone tell me how I can buy an IAP in this game? Because it’s definitely worth more than free, and I want to give them something. I feel like I’ve pirated it. I can’t even find a way to buy hints; they seem to be unlimited. The only thing that makes me feel slightly better is there are non-Retina Rovio ads on the pause screen (and nowhere else that I can find), but they seem to be in Chinese, and I’m in the U.S.
