I usually get through the black n white stage by jumping on aliens and asteroids...
Grinding planets and getting a speed boost before hand helps out quite a bit too.

 

Wow. I wonder if there are plans to have another unlockable character at 200 then. Whatever the case, I'm only about 1/3 of the way to 150.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking....

 

I'm not accusing them of that, I just find it odd that they would include esoteric hands signs in an iPhone game. I suppose the artists into that kind of stuff......just be honest about it.
