Thanks a ton for the code- took 6WT4XA7XE947. Will definitely impress some impressions and feed some feedback here when I've played with it for awhile.
This looks awesome is there any review out yet? The trailer looks pretty hectic. Is it sped up at all or the gameplay as fast as the trailer.
Thanks! There are some reviews on the App Store, and in this thread, we are getting a lot of positive feedback! PocketGamer did a review but sadly did not go far enough in the game to unlock the second part of the game. The trailer is NOT sped up, it's all in-game captured gameplay. However, the first levels are a bit slower to get accustomed to the gameplay
Right well here's my impression so far. I'll start with the good. It looks awesome and the controls work spot on, I love the idea and it pulls it off really well. Certainly has a feel of mirrors edge mixed with fotonica. But the bad. It's way to fast for me you need lightning fast reflexes, when going round a corner or through a door there will be another obstacle right there and it seems like more a test of memory than anything because you'll die and have to remember the sequence and get a little bit further next time. Also it's quite dark so it's sometimes hard to see gaps in the floor. If it was a bit slower I feel like I would enjoy it a lot more, either that or not have obstacles so close behind doors and corners. I'm only up to level five and I'm already considering calling it a day because it's so frustrating. It's only £3 so no big loss but I enjoyed fotonica and mirrors edge a lot more because they didn't seem unfair. Final thoughts. If your into memory/reflex games then you'll probably enjoy it but it's to fast and unforgiving for me. Dev's any thoughts on making it a bit slower or at least giving an option for easy normal hard with different speeds? I want to love it but my hands don't work quick enough for this right now.
Thanks for the in-depth feedback The game really goes fast and I agree that some traps (obtsacles behind doors for example) are a bit Die&Retry-ish. It was a source of fun during playtest and players liked to joke around them a lot so we kept some in the final game. However, after reading your feedback about the speed, we will try to implement an "Easy Mode" in the settings to cap the running speed. If that can help some players, you included, enjoy the game more, we'll try our best to add it in the next update!
Thanks. It's not like I'm not used to the memory style die and repeat gameplay I grew up with it. I'll stick with this a bit more because it's endless mode I really want to play. Like I said the controls are great and the game looks awesome just a lot harder than I was expecting I think.
There's quite a learning curve in the game. After a bit more practice, you'll see the earlier levels will seem super easy! Thanks again for the comments, it helps us a lot
To clarify, the gameplay is divided in two parts (right side of the screen, then left side of the screen), but we don't announce it to the player to keep adding new elements all along the story. So for the first few hours (depending how well you perform in the story), it can look as if the game can be played one handed up until that split!
No, I know, it's just painfully obvious how often their reviews are based on playing a game for 10 minutes. This is another one of those instances.
Well I've still stuck with it for now and while it sure is damn fast. I've found you just need to call kenny logins and get into the danger zone because I've managed to reach stage 7 so far and just learned a few new techniques which mix things up again. It's managed to go from being so frustrating I nearly quit to damn this is so hard I won't let it beat me in the space of a few hours. Definitely worth the tiny sum of £3 that it cost. It's a hard one to judge because now I'm looking back thinking if it was easier I'd have finished it by now. The fact it's this hard had gave me more play time. Im really wanting the endless mode but understand that it couldn't be unlocked right away because you wouldn't know all the moves. Well this is a turn around from my first feedback but I guess I could see the point in which some people would quit and to be fair if I had downloaded this for free I probably would have quit myself. It's that little part of you that says I've paid something for this I'll just give it one more chance. Anyway I guess in short I'm trying to say awesome game
Thanks a lot for the review! It really makes us happy to read! I'm really glad the difficulty turned more challenging than frustrating in the end We tried to gamble on that "I've paid so I'll keep trying just a bit more" feeling so we could give out the gameplay features one by one without the player getting bored too fast. The end goal of the Story mode is to let you master the gameplay so you can really enjoy it in Endless Mode, and in the Daily Challenge. I personnaly found that after a lot of practice (we played it a lot during development ), the flow of the game becomes smooth enough that you know precisely how to handle everything the game throws at you, and it becomes almost relaxing even at insane speed
What are you talking about? For more than half a decade Harry Slater has brought nothing but integrity to the world of mobile journalism. God, it's posts like this that make me HATE TouchArcade. Yes, I'm being sarcastic.
Another chime in from me. Arghgjj it's doing my head in. (Don't want to spoil anything so all I'm saying is) I'm stuck on level 10 now. Just when I was getting into it, you throw more at me to make things more complicated now you expect me to use two hands. How many brain cells do you think i have here. Damn you I won't be beaten
