Just got level 86, the level your mom had trouble with, I just say that level 7-7 is still the hardest for me though.

Wondering why not more people are on this thread, it's a fun game.

Haha, yeah. Based on all the user testing 7-7 is unanimously the hardest level, along with getting the box in 7-8. Didn't even mean for those to end up back to back. I might need to do a little reordering in the next update, haha.

I think getting traction for your first game as an indie developer is always tough. All the feedback we've gotten has been very positive though, so hopefully people will continue spreading the word!

I thought those "user" reviews were just humorous commentary. I guess not. :)

The developer's mom must be an amazing puzzle fan, being able to make it to this level this far into the game and beyond!

Haha, runs in the family I guess. Fun fact, I'm pretty sure she's the only person so far to complete all 100 puzzles.

Can't get level 8-7 it's just as hard as 7-7 there must be a critical move but I don't see it yet.

It's killing me to be honest Ha ha.

    Finally, World 9.

Since the app description mentions that there are 100 levels but I only see 9 worlds, I am assuming that there will another world that would be unlocked (?ghost world).

We have a new hardest level, it's level 9-3, I don't want to give up, I am a nice and calm guy, but this is even for me too much, I wil try tommorow another half hour and when I am not getting it I throw the towel in the ring.

Update #1. Just got 9-6. I was stuck on it for a long time. Again, brilliant level.

Noah, I am very curious the level of difficulty of the levels that your beta-testers rated when they tested your game. Would you be willing to post a top-ten list of the most difficult levels (including the hats) in the game. I like to know the distribution to see if this is inline with my own observation. Please do this for all of the worlds, including those in World 9 and beyond.

As well, I think there should be an undo option. For many of the more difficult levels, it is often very easy to tilt the board into an winnable position (that is a position that cannot be recovered). I have done this many times erroneously because I am still finding the tilt sensitivity difficult to master. Consequently, I have to replay the entire level just to try out another move. An undo button will greatly lessen the frustration. The puzzles themselves are difficult already. The player does not need to be burden more by the interface itself.

    Original post:

I got 9-3 (so can report that it is solvable) but now stuck on a later level in World 9. Argh....

9-3 is tricky for sure and can be a bit frustrating because it's so crowded, so it feels like you're making the same moves over and over without getting anywhere. I think you'll get it though.

The way I gauged the difficulty was by tracking average gameplay time per level. Unfortunately, I don't have much data for the later levels. If I recall correctly, only 1 or 2 testers actually finished the game. But I'll do my best to look back and see.

I'll look into adding the "undo" button for the next update. Though I'm confident you'll have beaten the game by that point, haha.

Update #1: OMG! I got the hat in 7-8! That was ridiculously difficult! Absolutely by far the most difficult bonus puzzle achievement in the entire game! Noah, how did you come up with this level design? So many steps needed with no margin for error. As expected, once I got all of the hats, a bonus "ghost" world is unlocked with a brand new mechanic!

    Original:

Finished World 9. 9-10 was brutal. Yikes! Yet, extremely satisfying to solve once you see the "trick"! Brilliant again!

    Now cannot unlock World 10.

Do I need all of the hats to unlock World 10? I thought the hats were optional. I got all of the hats except for the one in 7-8.

Haha, awesome! 7-8 is actually one of the levels where I made a random design first and had no idea if it was solvable. Then I sat and played it for an hour or two until I figured it out. Have fun with the ghost blocks #!

    Noah,

Very interesting ghost block mechanic. Is it true that ALL of the ghost blocks are necessary to solve a level (that is, the ball must cross the ghost block at least once for each block)? For example, 9-1 can be solved without using the ghost block in the bottom right corner. If not all of them are necessary, why are they there?

I have been starting all over, I do that a lot with games, it's fun to play the early levels again and how quickly I can pas them now.

I am on 4-2 now, wanna see the ghost world, hope I can make it.

Can't do 4-3 anymore huh, have to give up, so long people see you on the next game.

It's been a while since I made it, but I think that for 10-1 (since it is the first ghost level) I was looking to include some different configurations to show how the ghost blocks operate. Like that they might not appear next to each other, but will still move as a whole with that block.

It's also entirely possible that when I was tweaking the level design I accidentally left that one in there since it didn't negatively impact the solution.
