I would like to dedicate a thread to collecting thoughts on the late CEO's biography. Having just delved into the 2750 Page ebook, I am finding it quite fascinating how normal this guy was compared to the other CEO's like him (In terms of a lavish lifestyle).
I just find it interesting how I was there for the Apple II, kinda left Apple with him and also returned to Apple with him with the iDevices. I didn't buy a NeXT, but that was just because of lack of money
Have my on order from Amazon, but downloaded the sample on iBooks. I'm enthrawled right now so might just have to get the digital version as well as the physical version. It's a good read so far.
I ordered both. As I am 1600 Pages in the Ebook, I'm becoming less and less surprised that he is a bit of an asshole. If the movie Pirates of Silicon Valley is any bit truthful, then he was unjustly dickish to employees, and others.
I definitely want to read it - but will wait until I find it at the Chapters in the cheap section. Biographies of any kind (while interesting) are hard sells for me as the writing is usually not great and the bias is dependent on the writer. That being said I've always found Steve Jobs to be an interesting character in pop culture and would hope this book would be insightful as to his thought process behind some of the products he was involved with.
i have no desire to read it. i was alive when he was...these would be more interesting to read in say 200 years.. just like the godfathers of the railroad king pins. but no matter what enjoy your read.. i love to read.. chrisl
I find it ironic that he accused google of stealing from the iphone when the LG Prada came out first, Android was in development since 2003, and now the iphones have a lot of Android features. He was and will always be a two faced prick.
Mom said she wanted a book to read on iBooks, so I thought it'd finally be time to grab this. Hope it's good. I might as well read it as well.
I got the audiobook, I am not made to read Finished listening to it in 6 days, mostly on and off my way to work. Actually, there is nothing really new, but knowing the detail is really inspiring. The fact that he's in it not for the money is remarkable. OOT... I love this performance by Coldplay for his memorial day. Salute! to Steve
I read the Bio recently and I enjoyed it very much. I really can recommend it. It has very nice details and different views on some topics. The most exciting parts where all these interviews with all these "witnesses" during this periode. Very cool stuff.
