It's a shame that there's this big stigma about tofu in the US that only hippies and vegetarians eat it. It's actually quite good, at least when prepared right. Tofu by itself is rather bland and the texture is odd, but you can use it for practically anything because it absorbs the flavor of whatever you cook it with.

Ugh, but then again, there are some pretty disgusting foods at fast-food joints.

I'm not a vegan or anything like that, in fact, I am guilty of eating burger king but that's about it. Usually when I take my tofu, I actually enjoy it plain. But I get good Japanese tofu, nothing beats japanese tofu.

The best way to enjoy it, again, is with japanese rice ( sushi rice ) and some japanese pickles like cucumber, bamboo, carrot, many vegetables.

All the flavors combined is very pleasing.

    The Internet
    I would totally eat that.

Obviously not the whole thing at once, but the concept sounds delicious :)

The only problem with tofu and soybeans is that they contain a lot of estrogen, if a boy eats too much of it in his developing years (around 14 or below)... he can grow breasts

It's funny how the Americans laugh at our diet, or get disgusted by it, when their own diet consists of greasy meats, greasy vegetables, fried stuff, and other heart-attacks-on-a-buns, causing their average lifespan to be at least 1/3 shorter than ours. I think it's our turn to laugh at their diet.
Honestly I don't think stuff like hamburgers, pizzas, hotdogs and fries even taste good, let alone having those as part of a regular diet. Perhaps that is because most of North America does not have a long history, and art of cuisine is developed through time, like in SE Asia. That's something countries like the US and Canada will never be able to achieve.

Japanese people eat a ton of tofu, I don't see breasts on them. Yes, there was a slight joke in that sentence, but seriously, they do eat a ton of tofu, and Japanese males, on the whole, seem to have much smaller breasts than their non-tofu eating American counterparts.

Also, if you drink too much water you can die. See, I can use hyperbole as well.

Ahahaha, I'm laughing just thinking about it. I eat fast food around twice a week (I order a pizza once a week, and maybe, just maybe, I'll get a legitimate cheeseburger). It's no big deal if you eat healthy meals regularly. Fish, mashed potatoes, vegetables, beans and chips, tacos, chicken teriyaki, it doesn't have to be the standard meatloaf and asparagus. I personally love cheddar-teriyaki chicken tacos in a corn tortilla. Freakin' amazing. Also, work-out. I have a gym at my school, I take advantage of it and go on 3-mile runs with friends, and run in 5Ks. It's actually fun.

Even with all that horrible food we stereotyped fatty Americans eat, we still managed to invent the Internet, the qwerty keyboard your typing on, the mouse you use and the Iphone\touch you have so much fun with.

    You're welcome :)

Read my post. No where in it does it say "obesity-free". I said FOR THE MOST PART Europe isn't morbidly obese, and that was mainly in comparison to this fat ass country. BTW, my mom's English, and when she went back to the U.K. last year she noticed that the country appeared to be getting fatter, but it still pales in comparison to the mighty U.S. of A.

Is it lonely up there on your pedastal?

I agree that America's fat, and way too many of us eat garbage on a regular basis, but seriously, your superiority complex is just obnoxious. You may not like burgers, pizza, and fries, but I don't think anyone gives a sh*t. Not everyone likes rice, fish, and tofu, but you don't see people stating that like it's something to be proud of.

    Get over yourself.

Ever walked up to the cold cut counter in the grocery store and seen this...

First time I saw this stuff I almost threw up. Then one day I saw a 300 lb lady walk up and say "a pound and a half of head cheese please" I was like wow, how can people eat this stuff?
