Everything they need is on OpenFeint. They should have just acquired OpenFeint and rebranded the whole thing rather than to build a new platform. It's an easy choice that they didn't make.
To be honest with you I think openfeint has gained most out of this gc launch. They can now concentrate on cross platform integration whilst gc builds up it's profile. And even then I'm sure alot of developers will choose to remain with of which is now offering it's service with gc so it'll run as of but everything that gc offers will be reported to the gc servers so the game looks like it's running on that platform whilst still keeping all the extra features.
wow great thread, wish apple will read some of this. I didnt know that GC was lacking that much *hehe* But I def think they will tweak the thing here and there in coming weeks and months since apple is new to this whole game-social-stuff. Wish a little badge on the icon to discoverr GC titles from far off and the possibility to view my whole points of achievements.
Like the badge for openfeint in the game logo? I think it would be much better if they had a little simble next to the game name like a *, Just like the + for Universal games.
This is one place where OF takes king. OF is an app, it can be updated at any time. But if you want a GC update, you have to wait months until another firmware update.
