I hate to break it to you, but you saying there are thousands got me looking... and yes, there are several examples of that happening. It's not the plane itself but some kind of effect that happens. Here are two more where you can also see the planes: They both have the same odd rainbow/mirror effect as the one in the OP. I'm guessing it looks brighter in that one because it's a particularly sunny day and the light increased the effect... I don't know why the actual plane isn't visible though. Perhaps the plane and the effect are actually in the same place, with the effect superimposed over the plane itself, which is what gives it such clarity. From a Google Earth blog:
