Hot Pursuit isn't a racing game, it's a cop chase game. Open world. You don't have to beat anyone anywhere, just stop them (if you're a cop) or lose them (criminal). There's no requirement to keep going in the same direction at all... actually, if you see a police road block it's probably a good idea to turn around. What kind of kid isn't into cars these days?
Well... I'm not sure, it's not out. The first Hot Pursuit was one of the most popular games int he NFS series, most people agree it went downhill after that. Plus it's being made by Criterion who did Burnout, and those games never got old. They brought their awesome crashes with them as well. Alright so they call it racing because you're in a car going fast, but it's not really.
Yeah I suppose it is. Apparently there are two careers, one for the cops and one for the criminals. I'm not sure if there's ever a point when you're being chased by more than one cop at the same time... I haven't seen it in any of the gameplay videos but it was in a CGI trailer so hopefully it's there. You get to call in support like choppers, road spikes, decoys and so on, so there's a bit of variety there. The map sounds good too, 400 miles of road in an area 4x the size of Burnout's Paradise city. It's convinced me. Admittedly all we've seen gameplay-wise is the same car being pursued by the same cop, played by people who aren't very good at games. It should be easy to get into though, Burnout requires almost no practice at all and this should be similar. Get into a car for the first time and within a few minutes you're drifting a corner at 200k/h.
I would have to say NV man, being a giant Fallout fan myself. I played the Beta for Reach and I have to say I wasn't very impressed. It felt like it was trying to rip off Killzone 2, only with a sh!tload less classes. Maybe they will amp it up in the final product, but as it stands I didn't enjoy it anymore than I enjoyed Halo 3 MP (which I really didn't much). I dunno... It was ok if you are a Halo fan, and I am sure a great change of pace but it's simply not that fun. I was most disappointed with "Invasion" mode, where they pit spartans vs. elites. Elites pretty much raped the game if you used em right and that sucked... cause I never won against them and never lost with them. I hope they kind of nerf the elites a bit if they want to make it fair lol.
Yeah, it's a fairly accurate representation of the final product, though with a few bugs and features subject to change. If he didn't like the beta there's a good chance he won't like the finished game.
Yes, the beta is to help balance the game. Halo has never been about specialized guns and classes. Plus, if you look at MW2, that campaign is less than half, maybe even a third, as long as the Halo series(except for ODST).
Of course I do. Thus is why I pointed out that I hope they take care of the problems. But chances are they arn't going to change a whole lot save for the bugs. Duh. lol That basically sums up my thoughts,Thank you. lol
