Nice. The offer at Gamestop here ended, so I might end up getting a new one for Christmas and giving my old one to my little brother or something. It's only a matter of time before it breaks. He uses it nearly all day to watch Netflix and play Lego Indiana Jones 2. Kid should be outside playing in the dirt. How does it run? Just initial impressions and what-not.

Okay, fine, I'll try to be nice to him.

Well, just try to act adult-ish, okay, can you do that?

    Absolutely gorgeous.

I did notice the plastic around the vent was incredibly warm, but the xbox was definitely losing a lot more heat than my old one.

    The touch-sensitive buttons are beautiful.

The 250GB hard drive is incredibly useful,

It really is 'whisper quiet'; I was installing games to my hard drive while I was watching a movie, could not hear it at all.

Wifi is sooo useful. I didn't want to pay $100 for an adapter! But now I can connect to live from upstairs at the other end of the house from the router, where I prefer to do my gaming. The adapter is also very strong!

And it just seems to be ever-so-slightly snappier with everything it does.

I'm glad I got it. My old one was starting to break anyway (2 Red Rings in then past week!), so I traded it in while it was still functional.

Yep, definitely picking one up. I plan on getting a decent chunk of arcade titles, and I like keeping my most played games on the harddrive just in case. Not to mention the WiFi would be incredibly handy if I ever decide on setting up a monitor in my room. The question is simply when... gift cards. Need mucho gift cards.

The speed is astounding as well. Downloading Batman to my hard drive literally took 30 seconds. Connecting to others on BFBC2 is instantaneous. And 250 gigs....you can do SO much with 250 gigs.

    You'd think. I'm down to 250GB on my 500GB PS3 HDD.

No music, no photos, no movies except for a couple of clips I recorded on Just Cause 2. It's all taken up by game installs, PSN games/PSOne Classics and updates. Oh, and a ton of Rock Band DLC.

I know right? That's what I've always disliked about the Xbox, but now it's fixed ;)

Although I will say that it is actually signifigantly quieter than my friends' PS3s,

And as Blah said, the wifi speed is astronomical, I can't even get a signal with any other devices in the same area of the house :O

Well, except for the fact that it's 802.11b/g/n. I don't think the PS3 has 802.11n, does it? Or did that update come with the Slim?

I don't have a clue. I've never had a problem with wireless on any device in my house though :)

Yeah, b/g is plenty fast. b/g/n just gives a little extra oomph.
