Even the campaign is fun. The graphics and sound....blew me away. And the multiplayer is one of the best gaming experiences I have had, especially Rush mode

If you think BFBC2's campaign is good... you're quite easily pleased, so something as highly regarded as HL2 will blow you away. You'll be repping it for years to come.

It seems a bit....run and gun from all the reviews. I know Kamazar just specifically said it isn't, but look at a Gamespot or IGN review-it looks like you run into the area, clear the baddies, and move on.

No it isn't, it takes more thinking than Call of Duty or Battlefield, or Halo!

Yeah... it's not. In terms of FPS games it's about as far from run and gun as you can get. Obviously you do a lot of shooting, but the way it's intertwined with puzzles, story segments and even a bit of exploration totally changes the pace of the game. It's more like you're playing the story than playing an FPS with a story behind it.

Sounds like you just described Bioshock right there.

Just replace 'nuke' with 'civil war'

No, FO3 has FAR more gameplay the Bioshock 2. They're not alike in any way. FO3 is an RPG with light shooter elements, Bioshock 2 is a shooter with light RPG elements

    Perv, why do you care?
But, that described atmosphere, not gameplay.

Wait so you've bought and played Bioshock 2 and FO3 now?

edit: also FO3 doesn't have more gameplay than Bioshock 2... content perhaps, I can't comment as I haven't played Bioshock 2 yet.

    Rapture >>>>>>>> Wasteland.

I'd be more terrified getting placed into Rapture than getting placed into Wasteland.

Also, I bought Bioshock 2 Special Edition, so it's REALLY awesome.

But you get 10 hours in Rapture vs. 150 hours in Wasteland

Nope. I have tried each multiple times though-I'm just on the fence on which to buy. I heard FO3 is extremely difficult in the early levels

Fallout 3 has an absolute ton more gameplay than both Bioshock games put together. More story too. Rapture is a cool idea, but you're really given no info about it at all in comparison to the hundreds of documents and people's stories strewn across the wastelands. Combine that with all the FO1 and 2 back stories and... why am I explaining this? One is an FPS, one is a freaking RPG.

No, there are multiple endings, so you could play through to get them all... so that gives you 50-100 hours of gaming. And Bioshock 2 has more better gameplay than Fallout 3 anyway... dual weilding a rivet gun/drill with fire/lightning are just a few of the possibilities, imagine combining fire plasmid with a rivet gun :D There are so many possibilities!

Fallout 3 has less gameplay, but more content ;). You have the radio/tape things in Bioshock that tell you more about Rapture... they can be found across the game.

To be honest playing a game over and over to reach 50 hours isn't quite the same as reaching 50 hours in a single playthrough.

Not to mention each playthrough of Bioshock 2 is different, nothing happens exactly the same. And each playthrough you make different choices during the game to affect the ending.

Well obviously you can re-play Fallout too, endless stat/perk combinations, different endings and outcomes for quests, choose different options when talking to NPCs, play an evil/neutral character instead of good... it's not a secret that RPGs have a ton of content and FPS' these days are generally pretty short.
