Just finished the Gears of War 3 campaign. That has to have been the most epic single-player in any shooter I've played. Definitely the best graphics I've seen so far on the 360 as well. Extremely long for a shooter due to all the cinematics, but they were definitely welcome here. They totally nailed the final cutscene as well. Really liked what they did in the credits. Will grab the first and second games when I get the chance. Thanks for the recommendation guys.

Going to finish Fable III next just for the sake of having beaten the campaign in all of my games. Going to mix in some online multiplayer for my shooters in between. Might do a few more side quests in Skyrim too. That should last me for two weeks, which is when I'll be visiting home from college. Going to grab one or two new games at that time.

I kind of want to buy a fighting game before anything else. What's the best one in terms fun for local (same screen)/online multiplayer? Not really interested in single-player for fighters. Don't want KoF or SF, so this would be out of Mortal Kombat, UMvK3, or SCV, which is coming out in a few days I think.

I have tried MvC3 and Mortal Kombat.

Out of those two I'd pick Mortal Kombat without a doubt. MvC3, I traded it back after a few weeks of play.

I thought Gears 2 looked better than Gears 3 :p

I'd agree with robertgarcia on the MK call, but if you're playing local multiplayer then UMvC3 is also great. MK is the strongest for single player and online multiplayer because it's slightly less demanding, but if you're only playing friends anyway then UMvC3 is a good choice because of how dramatic and flashy it is. Plus it goes as deep as you want it to.

Just went on YouTube to check out the top 10 brutalities in MK9. I'm a bit queasy/disgusted atm, lol. I don't think I'd be able to play this at home when i visit during breaks. Will probably have to go with UMvC3. It looks like the more fun game to play with friends in any case. Still going to wait to see how Soul Calibur V is though before grabbing one. Thanks though guys.

-Oh, Assassin's Creed Revelations is currently only $30 at Gamestop for a new copy. I know it's a brilliant game, but would it be okay to play through it without having played the first few games and knowing nothing of the storyline? Don't want to read anything online about the plots of the first three games. I'll go back and play them one day if I enjoy ACR though. If it's still going to be a great experience, I'll probably grab it along with a fighter the next time I'm at GameStop.

-Btw, does anyone know any good dungeon crawlers for the 360? Games like Diablo, Baldur's Gate, Torchlight, etc. Not sure if I already asked this. Not really interested in getting any more Western RPGs atm since I still have so much of Skyrim to explore.

-Trying to finish up Fable III right now since it's the only game I haven't "beaten" yet. It's honestly one of the worst RPGs I've ever played in my opinion. Really glad it's almost over. Currently the king already and just raising funds to hit the target amount that should end the game. Practicing good game buying habits with the 360, lol. Well, actually, I didn't even buy it. Both Fable III and Reach came with my 360, but yeah.

Revelations is the 4th game in the series and since its the end of the Ezio and Altair story you really need that background knowledge to take it in. AC1 and AC2 are dirt cheap since they don't have multiplayer, Brotherhood has plummeted in price. You could easily get the first two games together for less than $30 now. AC1 is a bit slow and tedious and I only played it so I knew the story for Revelations but AC2 is an absolute blast

If you've played one AC, you've played them all. It's a shaky series if you ask me; started out less than fantastic, improved massively with the sequel then got milked to death with each successive game providing little new to impress. Personally, I say screw the story. It's not worth boring yourself with the repetitive gameplay just to witness a few cutscenes. Just find the best game and enjoy it, because each one you play after that won't be anywhere near as entertaining.

Hmm, I think I'll just go with playing AC Revelations then. Will go back and play the older games when I get a chance like with all the other series I need to do so with. Just beat Fable III. Pretty terrible RPG, but I guess it was made with the casual gamer in mind. Beat the campaigns in all of my 360 games now. Back to Skyrim side quests until I get a chance to go to GameStop to grab UMvK3 and ACR. So, I'm guessing no one here has played any dungeon crawlers on the 360 then?

I think the general consensus is that there aren't really any dungeon crawlers on consoles. It used to be that if you wanted guns, you went to 360 and if you wanted RPGs and more Asian-influenced games you went to PS3. That line is kinda blurred now and not strictly true, but neither side really picked up on the dungeon crawling aspect of RPGs at all. Xbox has that Live Arcade title I can't remember the name of, but I didn't enjoy the trial all that much...

I think you're referring to Bastion, I think that's the only XBLA Dungeon crawler. It can be found on Steam though.

I think Torchlight is the one he's thinking of. I actually enjoyed the game on Steam though. Might check out Bastion since I've heard good things about the PC version of the game. I have a Mac, lol.

Alright, guess I'll stick to playing Western RPGs then on the 360. Plentiful offering of those. Thanks guys.

Pretty "meh" reviews for SCV. Guess I'll be picking up UMvC3 then. Girlfriend's bringing me a new copy of ACR and RAGE when she drives up this weekend. Three new 360 games xD. Gotten a new game per week so far since buying the 360. Sadly, I've been nearly completely ignoring my iOS games for over a month now. Still keeping up with the new releases, but not playing them at all.

RAGE looks amazing, but the gameplay is pretty mediocre so far. Not really interested in all the driving parts of the game. Should be pretty decent though later due to the RPG elements. What's up with there being three discs for the whole game though..lol.

As far as ACR is concerned, Ezio is such a badass.

    That's DVD for you. 1 point to Blu-ray :p

I never got around to buying Rage due to the texture loading and short play length... I'll pick it up when it's cheap enough though.

Yeah, I only got it since the latest version of the game was on sale for $20 new. ACR was only $30 new.

My PS3 is only half-working and I sold my 360 awhile ago....so instead of purchasing another PS3, I bought another 360...

    Mostly for ME1 and GoW3....

    Hopefully I don't regret it..

I have already tried 9 xbox fighting games.

    Games I liked:

    MKvDCU
    MK9
    DOA4
    Tekken 6
    VF5
KOFXII (I think this game was given unfair reviews, or maybe I'm just an old fashioned nostalgic 30-something fighting game fan)

Just played over two hours of RAGE. It's starting to feel a lot like a KRPG. Fetch quest after fetch quest, lol..still looks pretty though. 5.5 hours in now. Trying to finish the game before playing ACR.
