I got Black Ops from a used 360 off of eBay. I hadn't noticed the full game was installed on my HDD until five months into my ownership of it haha.
I effin hated Black Ops online. No one wanted to have fun, everyone just wanted to win. So everyone tried the cheapest tactics they possibly could. I soon went back to TF2, who have a great community and a much more balanced game.
I have black ops... On the PS3. Also, I agree with Capsizing Heart, in cod blops everyone just wants to win and use cheap tactics like spawn camping.
I traded in Black Ops a few weeks after getting it. I couldn't take the frustration. I'm sure with enough time and practice I coulda gotten better. But I was tired of all the cheap deaths and the frustration it brought. TF2 will probably be the only online shooter I come back to and always enjoy. All the others I've played, you just die so fast and there are so many dick heads on the servers it just isn't fun. I'm really thankful Monday Night Combat pretty much removes the importance of killing other players. In one mode you don't even have another team to kill and in the other, you can earn just as many points not killing another player. Certainly made it less frustrating when more veteran players who knew the maps better were in their hidy holes or getting me from behind.
BFBC2 works infinitely better, as will BF3. Pretty much for the reasons you gave Monday Night Combat, you can get insane points from supplying ammo/health, repairing vehicles, completing objectives, etc... it really boosts the team play more than endless killing does, although you're also killing pretty much endlessly at the same time. Everybody wins.
I'm honestly surprised BFBC2 has anyone playing it since MW and Black Ops seem to dominate except for the niche games like Brink and TF2. That was really what put me off the game in the first place, despite some good reviews.
Really? It's been absolutely packed on all platforms since release. Easily the best multiplayer game around right now, but only for a few more months...
I guess I will look into it then. Played some more MNC, made my own custom Assault (my favourite class). Giving him Critical Shot in Gold. Reload speed in silver and health regeneration in bronze, all other endorsements seem pretty useless, maybe they're more effective on other classes. And I know everyone loves the Assassin, but I honestly can't see the point of the class. It seems to be the only class designed solely for killing other players and since killing other players is never the main aim of the game, it makes the class pointless. Except for atheistic purposes, of course.
I bought Alpha Protocol because I heard the conversation system is the BST EV0R. Even the conversation system sucks, it's designed to be like in real time, so you have to think fast and on your toes like a real agent would, which is fine for the game, but for us it doesn't give us enough time to make the coolest choice.
Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet looks like it's going to be pretty cool. I love the art style a lot. Hopefully the gameplay lives up to it. I wish it was coming out this month so I could buy it instead of Bastion to round out my buy two 800+ point XBLA games to get 200 points back deal. I tried the demo of Bastion and it did seem fun, but something about it just didn't draw me in completely. I might still end up buying that though. I need to decided soon.... I can't tell what the hell From Dust is. I guess I'll try the demo, though.
I was delighted to see the Halo Challenge called clear eyes full hearts this week. That just put a smile on my face. And every time I read it too. "clear eyes full hearts, cant lose"
I ended up buying Outland to go along with Torchlight to get the 200 points back. Bought it last night, played through the first boss. I'm really enjoying the game so far. Bastion demo was good, but I didn't enjoy it as much as playing Outland's demo and now the full game. Not that they are similar....
Shadow Planet is oozing Metroidvania touches all over it but be warn it is supposed to be very short only 4 to 5 hours gameplay
I've played the demo's for Bastion and From Dust. Both are good, but the controls for From Dust feel a bit fiddly for me. Still, they may just become a must have soon. I recently purchased a Kinect as well. I'm not entirely sure why to be honest. Child of Eden is a fantastic game via controller and I must admit, it feels great with Kinect as well. I probably won't buy any specific games for it, but Fruit Ninja is out next week and I hear it is rather fun, so maybe that'll be my first Kinect buy
