Because of all you people the first game I bought for my XBox is Battlefield:Bad Company 2. Jeez I'm loving. Now, I know I sound like a noob (and I am one ) but how do I chat with people online? I plugged the headset into the small hole in the bottom of the controller and turned it on, but no one was talking to me! This didn't just happen once, so I think it's something wrong I'm doing. Also, I haven't made any friends yet on my Xbox. If you're interested, please PM me your GamerTag. Also, game recommendations? I got BF:BC2 first, and I'm thinking of getting Borderlands next (I have a couple friends who play it, and Co-op mode looks so pwnage ). I'm gonna skip on MW2 and Halo 3 because their sequels are coming out in the fall. Right now, I'm debating between L4D2 and Borderlands. I have friends who play both, so co-op will be readily available-which way should I go? Thanks for all help
And on the realism debate-I think if a game strives to be realistic, then it should be realistic. What I mean by this is that Halo doesn't even make an attempt at being realistic-it's not the goal, and thus gameplay is fun and exciting, and you never wonder why the hell you're shooting a Plasma Gun. On the other hand, some games (ahem, MW2) strive to be realistic, but fail at it. That really hurts the gaming experience. On the other hand, BF:BC2 (which I'm totally obsessed with if you couldn't tell by now ) tries to be realistic, and in the end, it succeeds. It only matters how realistic the game is if the game makes an actual attempt at being realistic
Blah, Get ODST. It has all the maps & multiplayer of 3(plus three new ones) & a new game mode. Plus, one of the best campaigns of all the Halos, although the length isn't very long.
But Halo Reach is coming out sooo soon!! I can wait a couple months for a longer campaign, a better firefight, and just more epicness..... Also do you know what I'm doing wrong with the headset?
Just a quick note as to MW2 and realism, I'd say MW2 doesn't really aim to be realistic in the sense that after 5 kills, you magically get a predator missile, and how that can let you work towards a harrier. Or that tactical insertion is a real thing. Or a battle would take place in a small, fence enclosed map. But hey, whatever floats your boat. I got this headset off eBay, and for 99c it works great, but the controller never recognizes it if I plug it straight it. Try plugging in your headset, turning off the controller (just open the battery case real quick instead holding down the center button), plug in your mic, turn it back on. Finding people that'll talk is pretty rare as well. I thought it'd be different, but the only people that don't play in parties are pre-teens with mouths that came straight out of, well, in nice terms, an R-rated movie. But even those are more tasteful. What model do you have anyways?
Thanks for all the help. Much appreciated. Ya, that's the thing about MW2: doesn't it kind of contradict itself? It aims to be realistic with warfare-type graphics and every real gun you could imagine, but then it tosses all those weird things like Harrier and Nuke at you. I don't know....it seems like the developers wanted the best of both worlds, and ended up making a mess of it in the end. Then again, some people love this game, so this argument can really go either way. Regarding the headset, I'll give you a shot and see how it goes. Thanks for the advice. Ya I was expecting a bunch of swearing and screaming, which is why I was surprised when there was utter silence, even in modes that require strategy like Capture the Flag. I have the newest XBox (went through hell to get it, but I was determined ). What a beautiful piece of technology it is. So fun to just use the touch sensitive buttons......
Think it's on the console. Out of interest, are the controller buttons pressure sensitive? Were they ever?
They never were. No matter how hard you slammed on that button, Master Chief is only gonna jump so high. The controller could definitely use a revamp whenever the next generation console is released.
I guess by touch sensitive you pretty much just mean pressure sensitive then? They're still actual buttons. In that case I'm not sure they are, it'd be pointless since none of the existing games would support pressive sensitive actions and any future games that did might be rendered unplayable on older contollers. Sixaxis buttons are all pressure sensitive though, and it's almost completely useless. I can't think of any games it's used in. ...and what Kamazar said.
Touch sensitive means it's not a button....it's just part of the flat surface of the XBox, but when you touch that part of the surface, the XBox turns on. It's aesthetic and pretty awesome, except it is a fingerprint magnet. The touch sensitive buttons are only on the console No pressure sensitive buttons. And I'm glad-that would make things WAY to complex
I really haven't played either, but inFamous is recognized even by people that only own one system as the superior game... you do know the inFamous is a PS3 exclusive, right?
Left4Dead2 or Borderlands? I have friends who play both, but I will have to play solo a bit.....so which should I go with? Thanks for any and all help
