I always felt like half the fun was being dropped into a battle situation with no clue what to do. When you don't know your way around the map it feels absolutely huge and confusing, much like a real life situation would It can definitely be disorienting but I think most people tend to start off by ignoring objectives and concentrating on getting kills and staying alive. After a few matches you'll start to notice what your team are actually doing, learn a few key points on the map and it'll just grow on you from there.
^^What he said. And if you still don't get it after that, just play your role. Assaults kill people and hand out ammo. Engineers repair and destroy armor. Medics heal and revive people. Recons spot enemies and snipe. Trust me, once the game clicks, it becomes one of the best multiplayer experiences ever. Give it a chance.
Try and get some friends on there too, that'll make it awesome. If you don't have any, try and make some
Dude how do you not know the mechanics of an FPS? Just take it easy, learning will come with practice. And if you can play the singleplayer, you can play the multiplayer. They really aren't that different, just sub out AI with real people.
How do you hand out ammo, repair armor, etc? I saw some of that in a video I was pointed toward on another site (this was after the fact). The game doesn't tell me how to do it, and neither did that video - it just showed it. Or if it I did, I missed it. That's the kind of stuff I mean by it not having a tutorial. There's stuff happening that I don't know how to do. I am wondering if I were to complete the single player, at some point in that maybe it introduces stuff like that.
Use the left and right buttons on the d-pad to get to your character's gadgets. Assaults get ammo boxes and grenade launchers. Engineers get a repair tool and some kind of explosive. Medics get health packs and defibrillators (to revive teammates). Recons get motion sensors and C4/mortar strike.
While I wait for THE game (aka Mortal Kombat), I've been playing Batman AA GOTY for the first time. So far (just got to the second Scarecrow fight) I'm digging it. Nothing spectacular so far, but I know it will get better.
I've got a copy of Batman AA:GOTY, but haven't had a chance to get to it. It's on the infamous backlog, along with a bunch of other stuff. Last night I tried out Rush N Attack demo and I mostly liked it. I never played the original, so had no preconceptions of how it should be. Seemed to play well and was fun. I could definitely do without the gore, which seems pretty needless in this game (why does almost everything have to be an M-rated gore fest?), but the gameplay was fun. I'll wait for it to go on sale, though. I'm in no hurry to pick it up.
Because otherwise it'd be like the App Store, and everything would have to be a rosy-cheeked, puppy-eyed cutefest instead
I decided to say what-the-heck and just bought the Vietnam expansion for BFBC2. I'm presuming I'll get the hang of the online eventually and then will be happy I bought the DLC while on sale for 600 pts. So, with that, will be going online this weekend. Into the breach and all that.... I'm "crunc is" on the xbox. Feel free to send me a friend request, especially if you're in the mood for helping out a newb online Just let me know who you are on TA via a message on the xbox.
IGN's got a live-stream of some Gears 3 multiplayer footage, if anybody's interested. Not the greatest quality of video, but it's kinda cool to see how the thing runs.
What have you seen, the trailer that has absolutely nothing to do with the game? There hasn't been anything yet, and it's supposed to be like Dead Rising.
They are. That guy just always has a stick up his ass and is angry often. Talking about that game, yeah it looks pretty cool. More like Borderlands than anything else I'd say. Borderlands mixed with Left 4 Dead and Far Cry 2.
