That's one of the first times I heard someone say they didn't like Dragon Age. I agree the game is not the greatest looking out there but I can overlook that, and I thought the quests were some of the best. They were long and quite exciting, did you beat the game?
That image is my comp wallpaper, except with a purple background instead of the individual character colors.
anybody thinking of putting off Homefront, please watch this video and change your mind http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LNWB95oNysY&lc=A3kCs5yCf6NFyhIBIyXSbZWL0EIXJVsGLVBmwHj6K5M&lcf=cs EPIC
No chance. I'd rather poke red not shards of metal under my fingernails. I'd heard it wasn't great looking, but I'm no graphics whore so it didn't even factor into my decision... then it completely stunned me with it's crappy PS2-a-like presentation. I mean, it's genuinely the worst-looking game I own on PS3, and I'm approaching the big 100. Nevertheless I tried to get into it. The boring family feud or whatever it was didn't do much to convince me from the start. I think I played about 6 hours or so in total, during which time nothing even remotely gripping occured... perhaps a bit of simple mindless grinding and completely uninspired conversations. Some game take a while to get into but there's a limit and 6 hours is well over it. I still own it but have no desire to ever go back to it.
Two reviews are out for this game. 5/10 and 6/10 respectively. Looks like another C tier shooter from THQ. Edit: There are also 2 8's.
My thoughts: 1) The backstory is really cool, I like how they laid it out for the player. 2) Advertising on the homepage of YouTube with the words Breaking: North Korea Attacks and making it look like a live press conference was a bad move in my books. It's misleading and will make people angry. 3) It looks average as a shooter. Crysis 2 is going to be my March shooter.
Yup, it looks too much like CoD for me to care. I'll wait for Brink and Battlefield 3. I'm betting C2 will get an 8.5
Well I hope one day you change your mind and decide to play it again and actually enjoy it. Homefront does look like another generic CoD clone that doesn't do much different to distinguish itself. I feel an FPS has to do something unique in order to be a good FPS. Definitely looking forward to Brink but they keep pushing back the release date from September to April and now May 17th. I also have a feeling not many people will hear about this game.
Brink and Battlefield 3 might be my only multiplayer FPS games I play this year, and they are both nowhere near boring ol' CoD. Battlefield is the opposite of CoD in terms of shooters, and Brink has new elements that haven't been in other games before.
Haha, me too I don't voluntarily dislike games, if I had the option I'd love them all. It just so happened that Dragon Age contained a lot of the stuff I can't stand.
It seems some games take a second try to get me hooked. Bioshock and Fallout: New Vegas did, and I love them both now.
I'm not buying the Battlefield 3 hype (this is pretty huge considering Battlefield is my favorite FPS series). I just have this gut feeling that the Multiplayer will contribute to noobs and have unbalanced shit, or in other words CoD style multiplayer. I want that "Battlefield" feeling where explosions are massive, guns roar and have distinctive sounds, burst firing at long range to kill someone, and that epic feeling of war. If Dice screws this up I'll be heartbroken
I don't think that's gonna happen. So far they've been great at keeping away from that whole CoD vibe. If they can stay unique with Bad Company 2 I'm sure they'll push for it even more with the next addition to the main series. They know it's a big deal, they know the fans love it because it isn't another Call of Duty and they know they've got their own successful formula going on without having to go down that arcade route. If I had to call something out I'd say it's Crysis 2 that's edged slightly towards CoD.
I just wish the PC gamers would just accept that console gaming is much more prevalent now and that they would stop complaining about, like, everything, especially Battlefield 3. Seriously, have you visited those forums? It's a constant war, console vs. PC. In a perfect world, Battlefield 3 is equal on all platforms. At least I wish.
Uum, it's DICE... hello! DICE actually listens to the community for their BF games, especially this one so they don't f*** it up. Yes, but PC gaming is what got BF started and PC can handle much more than a console.
The video quality is pretty poor, but Gears 3 looks incredible. Good to see Epic finally using a more diverse color palette for the series.
