Hi, I recently got an Xbox 360 slim and I am just wondering whether the shelf I put it on will give it enough ventilation to run properly.

I usually play no more than 3 hours at a time, and at these times, the air around the xbox 360 is warm, but not hot.

So far I haven't gotten any overheating errors and the only freezes I've experienced are the occasional frame rate stutters while playing games.
, but I dont want to risk having anything bad happen :p

    here are some pictures:

It does look a little crammed in there, and I know if it wasn't a Slim, it wouldn't have enough ventilation.
So if you want to be really safe, I'd say put it on top of the unit; but to be honest if it's not giving any overheating errors then you should be fine.

A fat 360 would definitely bake in there. It doesn't look like there's enough of an opening at the back for the heat to escape so it'd just back up. If you only play for short periods you might get away with it, but my advice would be to keep checking every so often to make sure. Just put your hand at the back of the shelf and by the 360s vents to test how warm the air is. Oh, and obviously touch the back of the 360, if the case is hot then the insides are probably five times as hot. Not a perfect method but it's a good indication.

Picked up Dead Space 2 when it was released but just got around to starting a couple nights ago and I just started disc 2 last night. So far the game is great, much better than I expected it to be once I heard EA was adding online. Also very happy to see no online achievements are in the game. ;)

I tried the Crysis 2 demo and... yes, it's a FPS. I'm not sure what I was expecting. I played for half an hour and then deleted it. Not my cup of tea, especially since everyone is drinking orange pekoe.

Had no idea Crysis 2 had a demo. Is it an online only demo or part of a single player campaign?

Did you play the first Crysis? It's also....an FPS. The uniqueness only really shines once you get into the game a little.

Planning to grab Dead Space 2 for the 360 soon, never played the first one but enjoyed the demo. Was planning to get it for PC until I found out you don't get the new game+ rewards , PC's always getting crapped on now.

Probably will buy Crysis 2 if they fix the lag issues. Otherwise, I found it very entertaining. The single map demo they had had limitless replay value.

Yeah PC gets none of the DLC they have planned either. You might want to read about the first game so you at least know about the story from the first game. Then you should pick it up just to play through because it is a great game and it is really cheap now, I usually see it for $15-$20.

I couldn't agree more. I've been playing the demo almost nonstop, and if they fix the lag and add more weapons and attachments, I could see it being bigger than Black Ops. As of now, though, theres a bit of lag in hit detection and the melée attacks are pretty much broken. It takes about 5 seconds after hitting someone for the hit to register, and by then you're probably dead anyway.

That said, I've been playing the demo like crazy, and it's going to be an amazing game no matter what. I wish there were a couple more guns to give you a taste of the variety of weaponry, but im having fun with the scar and the pistol. The shotgun could use a bit of a boost, though, since it felt pretty weak to me.

Also, anyone else check out the Bulletstorm demo yet? I'm still trying to get the hang of the game myself, but once I do, I see it being a ton of fun.

Bulletstorm is an odd one. If you look at it purely as an FPS it's pretty straightforward and might get repetitive... but if you're actually taking the arcade route and going for score like you're supposed to, there's so much refinement you can do. You'll never stop coming up with new ways of perfecting a run. Awesomely chaotic and varied game provided the player submits to the style.

Yeah, I've been trying to play it in as arcade a way as I can, and I'm having quite a bit of fun with it. The only problem is I can't seem to find original kills, combos, etc. with all the dudes shooting at me at once. Once I start to find new kills and combos, I can see it being even more fun. I just need a bit more time to get used to the leash, kicking, and guns.

I can't wait to see the full game though... The echo alone is pretty fun, but the campaign looked RIDICULOUS from the gameplay video I saw.

I feel as though there's only that many points you can earn in a level of echoes, it seems for every encounter there's always something in the environment to use to kill the mob. So once you figure out how to reap maximum points it would start to get repetitive. That said, Bulletstorm was a ton of fun to play, not sure if I'll pick it up though but then again the epic edition come with the GoW 3 beta key.

Replaying Portal in anticipation for Portal 2 in a couple months...I had forgotten how amazing it was. Barring length, I'd say it is the greatest video game in history

Brace yourselves, I fear your palm my meet with your face if you follow this link:

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1354490/Boy-11-racks-1-000-mothers-debit-card-playing-XBox-online.html?ito=feeds-newsxml

tl;dr - Mother wants to blame Microsoft for her 11 year old son spending over £1000 on XBL after she entered her credit card details to pay for his subscription.
The price of stupidity. Also, I'd really like to know what games he was playing. £1000 says they weren't age appropriate :D

How the hell can you even spend that much in XBLA. I'd like to see a list of what he bought. And the kid was 11, he should know better.

I know, it seems insane, so much so that their side of the story just doesn't add up. To be able to spend that kind of money, it'd take a lot longer than a month, and considering that you can only buy MS points in batches of around 6000 max, the mother should have noticed all those transactions on her card.

I mean, the kid must have downloaded nearly everything he possibly could, definitely a lot of on-demand games to rack up that kind of bill.

Big news. Tomorrow Rockstar will release the first gameplay video of L.A NOIRE. Considering this is R* next big release after GTAIV and RDR, it must be yet another hit.
