Always start with campaign. It teaches you the ropes of the game and you can get a good feel for the majority if not all of the weapons. As someone who's generally not very good at online FPS's, I've had pretty good success using the Hardline, Sleight of Hand, and Marathon perks. Hardline lets you earn killstreaks in one less kill, good if you die a lot like me. Sleight of Hand let's you reload twice as fast, which is good for obvious reasons. Marathon lets you sprint farther, so you can traverse the map faster. Weapon-wise I'd buy the Famas as soon as you hit level 14. It's a very, very accurate and powerful assault rifle. Or you can go the AK-74u route, as it's easily the most accurate SMG. You'll see a lot of people using both of these because you unlock them relatively early on. But you need to play it yourself and find your own play style. You might be completely different. But this is a good place to start.
I do talk about 360 in here. Forum etiquette generally means slight deviations from the topic are fine as long as they're not dragged out, I merely answered a couple of questions another forum member had, it's nothing to crap your pants over. If he'd asked me via PM I'd have replied via PM, I'm not posting merely to annoy people. The issue with making a topic purely for comparison is that those ones really do invite arguments, and they're quickly locked.
Games I recommend for you Osujxu: Music- While people may say Rock Band, I personally can't go past DJ Hero 2. I prefer the soundtrack which is focused more at recent hit songs and the turntable allows for a more engaging time in my opinion. Shooter- I'm not a fan of Black Ops. Battlefield Bad Company 2 is now cheap and offers the best team based multiplayer, as far as shooters go anyway. I can't stand Halo, but you may like it if alien shooters are your thing. Action- Three recomendations here, GTA IV which is now super cheap if you get the original version. Red Dead Redemption which is an amazing game, both by Rockstar Games are must haves. Also Assassin's Creed II & Brotherhood which are real favourites of mine. All offer quite lengthy campaigns and lots of extra freeroaming value. Racing- If you want a sim racer, Forza 3 is the way to go unless you want to hold out for Forza 4. If you are more of an arcade racer, Need for Speed Hot Pursuit is excellent. The devs of Burnout made it after all. Sports- I saw your already getting FIFA 11, but NBA 2K11 is a spectacular masterpiece if you are a basketball fan. It is realistic and basically forced EA Sports to scrap their own NBA title for 2011 (Must be added that it was looking quite average to begin with). Kinect- Kinect Sports is definitely the way to go. It is an excellent compilation of games and mini games, much better than Wii Sports. Nothing else has really stood out so far, perhaps Dance Central if you are into that kind of thing. If you want a fitness game I recommend Your Shape: Fitness Evolved. I consider myself quite fit and it is constantly making me collapse in a heap after playing. Hope that helps a bit.
Definitely agree with this. I got FIFA straight away as I always do and love it. But this year I wanted an NBA game so I decided to go ahead and get 2k11. That was about a week before christmas and I have not stopped yet. Its such a great sports game. The best presentation I have ever seen in a game. It really is made feel real by the commentary and setup.
thanks alot man. i totally forgot about nba 2k11 haha. i'll be getting that as wel as ac brotherhood probably now
AC:B is fantastic, but there are better options. I highly recommend you look into the Orange Box. Only 20 bucks, and some of the best games in history.
There is a demo of Kinect Sports available for download... but I have to say, it doesn't exactly sell the game. The two events it offers, a short sprint and a little bit of bowling, don't exactly inspire confidence. The bowling was truly horrible. I'm not sure what version of Wii Sports you've played, but the bowling in even the original is mind-blowingly better. Of course I have no idea if the rest of Kinect Sports is worthwhile and I presume it has to be, because the game gets great reviews. I just wonder why they picked such a horrible set to try out in the demo.
Yo, so, did everyone on this thread go and pre-ordered Mortal Kombat already? Seriously, do it. Game looks unbelievable. Comes in April. Can't wait.
I'm not going to pre-order Mortal Kombat as I'm not into those games much, but will probably pre-order Portal 2 once we see who's got the best pre-order deal. I loved the original.
I like MK, but I really don't see any difference between this one and the last few. I'll have to play it first. But everyone should get MvC 3, looks to be the new king of fighting games.
Really!? The game is now 2D gameplay instead of pseudo 3D like in the past 4 games. Now to mention that it looks visually fantastic, darker, more gory. The gameplay seems like a drastic change (for the better) and with more depth than ever. Check some of the new videos, or listen to the Mortal Kombat official podcast for even more info Game is seriously looking fantastic.
Good news for you then, Bulletstorm demo coming Jan 25 for Xbox and PS3. All of these games that people have listed, I am excited for. Can't choose only 3.
