Crap, man... I really want a decent fps game, preferably military, that has player vs player splitscreen. any suggestions?
Any of the Call of Duty games have that. If you can't afford Black Ops right now, you should probably go for Call of Duty 4 to be honest. It's cheaper and a bit more fun at times than Modern Warfare 2.
Amazon has a buy 1 get another 1/2 off deal for a ton of games. http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/ref=br_lf_m_1000647951_grlink_1?ie=UTF8&plgroup=1&docId=1000647951
hey guys i'm getting an xbox 360 next week. i've only previous owned a regular xbox, wii, and idevice. i mainly game on idevice, but after getting the 360 i would think that it will be my preferred choice. my question is though, do you think its worth it over a ps3? it doesn't matter either way because i'm getting the 360 but i'm jw. also does it take along time to set up and get everything going? and tips when i do set it up and stuff? also what games should i get? i'm gona start out with fifa and black ops, and then i'll pick up madden later. any other suggestions or things that i should know would be much appreciatetd because i don't have a clue. oh yea and i'm also getting a kinect along with like kinect sports. any other kinect games worth getting? how long does that take to set up? and tips for the kinect?
Setting up and getting started is VERY easy. You just start a new profile and you can start gaming right away. Black Ops is a good choice. I'm enjoying it so far. Kinect is SUPER FAST to set up. Only one wire connects the xbox and kinect. Kinect Sports is the best kniect game right now. Stick with that. Tips for kinect: Make sure you have a lot of space. Clear everything in your living room and make sure there is about 6ft between you and the kinect. If your gonna play with another player, you might need 8ft.
If we can try and avoid restarting the pathetic little console war that rears it's ugly head from time to time... yeah, the 360 is worth it. I prefer the PS3 for several reasons but generally, both consoles are great and the majority of great games are multi-platform. Both machines are doorways to gaming awesomeness.
thansk man. after reading alot of reviews and comparisons, it seemse like alot of people think the ps3 is better. jw for the new xbox slim, do you guys experience hardware failurs such as rrod? also do you guys think its worth paying the extra money for live? and finally is blue ray worth it? i'm not trying to start any console war. i just need to know that if i'm getting an xbox, it has to be the right choice
Yeah that's fair enough, it's just hard to express opinion around here without someone throwing the word fanboy about. I felt that Live was worth the money when I first got my 360, it's not really that much per month... but when I got my PS3 it made me wonder why I was paying money when I could have a very good service for free from Sony. Blu-ray is kinda 50/50, it's worth it in the sense that everyone is shifting towards it and it'll probably become standard so for that reason you kinda need to own one, but it's not exactly the best thing ever. I still buy DVDs because they look fine. When you do eventually decide that you want a BD player, the PS3 is still one of the best options for it.
What it really comes down to is how much you're going to use the Xbox and what you aim to use it for. In my opinion, if you're a hardcore gamer like me, Live is money well spent. It gets you the best online experience around. If you're more casual then I'd think about what you're going to use the console for. Shooters are more online-based, but there are also some great single-player games that don't require Live. And in regard to the PS3 vs. Xbox thing, obviously anyone in this thread (with the exception of Midian) will tell you that they prefer Xbox. I'm no different. But no matter what route you go you're getting an awesome gaming experience. The PS3 is very different than the Xbox though, so consider that too.
The new XBox has protections against hardware failures that plagued the earlier iterations. The fan pumps out much more heat than it used to, and the XBox will shut itself down if it detects signs of overheating of critical parts. It's never had to shut down on me anyway. Just make sure to put it in a place where the fan will have plenty of room to work and avoid putting the XBox on the carpet. Tends to insulate the heat and keep it inside the XBox.
I have an Xbox as well but the only reason I'd want to get a PS3 is because of their exclusives particularly Uncharted. You might want to consider some of the games the PS3 has before making your decision.
Mmm new Xbox has no hardware failure and failsafes to prevent overheating etc. Kinect = winhax Live > PSN especially in the US but it's a premium service so you really pay for it (IDK if that makes sense I'm tired) In terms of exclusives Full retail releases PS3 > Xbox Downloadable content/games Xbox > PS3 Both are good, on isn't really better than the other, it's all down to preference. On a side note, more people probably seem to prefer PS3's because Sony supporters seem 'louder' than Xbox supporters to me (I stress I am not talking about anyone here, I refer mainly to YouTube commenters) Again, both have pros and.con, it's all down to preference.
thanks for all the replies people. i'm actually leaning toward ps3 now along with move. just wondering though, what advantages does xbox exactly have over ps3? aside from online, because its not really an advantage since its paid. also do you think a move is worth it if i already own an wii? anyways i still might get an xbox, but i've realized all my friends have ps3
Move is definitely a waste of money-I think even some PS3 users may agree with me on that. If your friends have a PS3, get a PS3.The XBox is more for downloadable games, hardcore multiplayer gamers, the Kinect, and a couple incredible exclusives (Halo, GoW, L4D, Fable, etc.)
Xbox will take over the world in coming years if Kinect is utilized properly. Microsoft is trying to make the device a 100 in 1 uses console with the addition of Netflix, ESPN etc. With all this coupled with voice recognition to control it all, I see the 360 a large stepping stone to our future technolgy. The downside is that the PS3 will probably take hardcore gaming seriously. These consoles focus gaming around the online aspect. If all your friends have the PS3, you need to consider if you want to play with them, which you probably will. Then again if you want to hop up and be active, kinect is the king of motion controllers.
Uum, that's a bit debatable. Kinect is unforgivably inaccurate. That slight lag is also pretty bad, and yes, I've tried it. PS Move is more accurate than the Wii and Kinect, and has BUTTONS. It just doesn't have the good games the Wii has or the discreet copying of another device (ie: Eyetoy, which not many people have heard of, unlike the Wii) that Kinect has.
