I think that still doesn't cater to everyone. We need to petition Square Enix to make it just run without a device. That way they'll broaden their market to everyone.
I looked at this game in HD on youtube and i dont see why this doesnt play on ipod touch 4g i mean many games with awesome graphics Play fine with no lag like infinity blade 1and 2 max payne grand theft auto 3 ( i went in the files and turned on full effects blood, shadows, lights, tire marks and reflection system) and the game barely lags this is the only square enix game that doesnt play on ipod touch and i dont know why i cant even see it in the app store but on my brothers ipad 1 its there in the app store ?!?! The RAM and music and redrawn art really shouldnt be a problem it just doesnt make any sense and its not even universal its like they meant to not put it on ipod touch
Finally got this downloaded. Blown away by the visuals so far. I'm not much of a JRPG fan either, other than the action ones like Zelda and Secret of Mana, but this seems good so far.
People have already tried playing TWEWY on the iPod, it crashes at the first battle. iPod has only 256 MB of RAM, all the other devices have at least 512.
You do realize the DS version had really low shitty quality resolution compared to the iOS version right? The DS version was 60 MB, the iOS version was 2300 MB or 2.3 GB. Just click the picture in the quote below and tell me you still think an iPod can run. Complaining about it won't magically make TWEWY work.
The iOS version installs at 2.3 GB? High resolution is nice, but there's such a thing as lossless compression or optimizing some of it. The image doesn't even look so great. It looks like they scaled up the original art with some derivative of 2xSAI filtering, then exported to create new sprites. And saved everything as bitmaps--apparently.
WAIT THIS GAME TAKES 2.3gb!!! WHY?!?! OH and about the picture the graphics look the same as a goddamn pokemon game and if take a close look the crowd doesnt look tht impressive and tht neku and the guy in the red hoodie are the only ones tht had a graphic and color boost in other words there the only noticable thing in the picture.
I don't typically wince over installed sizes. But this is one of my top RPGs for the decade, and there's no way I can leave it installed very long on a 16GB iPhone. It does look pretty great running on the retina screen. I'm still not convinced 2.3GB is the best they could do, but the quality difference from the DS alone makes this worth replaying.
