You'd pretty much just be missing a few items and a minigame. Not much, so don't let that dissuade you.
Loving this so far! Anyone got an idea how long this game is hours wise? I'm the kinda person who wants to do it all not just a quick run through.
But it is stuff you cannot get through other methods? I know it's not a major thing but I'm one of those people who gets irritated by knowing I'm missing out on stuff, even if fairly inconsequential! To be honest I'm probably going to get it anyway, my curiosity will not allow me not to, just a matter of do I get it now and delete Horn or wait for my new phone (in a month hopefully if they do announce it on 12th Sept!).
I think touch arcade needs a better rating system. At least a 1 to 10 system. They gave this a perfect score but still said there were faults. A 5 out of 5 should only be giving to a absolute gem. It should not be easy to get. I would say maybe a game a year warrants a 5 rating. The fact alone it's not universal or updated for new iPad should give it a 4.5 star. Please Eli, adjust this some how. When you plant a 5 star rating on something it should warrant it. Not saying that this one doesn't deserve it but EVERYTHING should be considered when giving a 5 star review. Everything!
I'm not saying I agree or disagree with your post as a whole, but you can't take whether a game is universal or not as something that determines a rating. That would automatically mean that any iPhone-only game (regardless of whether there's an iPad version), no matter how perfect it may be, could never score a 5/5...and vice versa, for that matter. How many iPad-only games are out there? Just because I can't personally play them on my iPhone doesn't mean they deserve a lower rating than what they've gotten. That's unjust. Sure, maaaaaaaaybe the fact that the iPhone version of TWEWY can't be played on an iPad is something to consider, but not the fact that this isn't universal.
Your absolutely right. Maybe I phrased that wrong. The universal support should not really affect the score, I was trying to get at the fact that they gave the game a perfect score and admitted to some faults. That means its not perfect. I'm not trying to start a debate over this, I just wanted to say that if a game has faults then it's not perfect. Maybe a 4.5 star rating would have been better. 5 star ratings should be giving out maybe once or twice a year. This year touch arcade has giving out 33 five star ratings according to the TA app and most of those games I've played and they don't warrant a perfect score. Max Payne mobile was no where near a 5 star rating. Great game but control issues alone should have brought that down a bit. On a 1-10 scale you have more flexibility to give a game a 9 or a 9.5 for a great game. And every so often when that gem comes along you can plant a 10 on it. Anyway I'm jumping in and buying the game. And I'm sorry for blowing this thread up, I just wanted to express my feelings on the rating system.
Not exactly a great post ! So have you got this ? I'm not keen on it after watching a youtube video but it seems to be pretty popular. Do you actually play these games as you were saying similar one line posts on other game threads.
Review scores in general tend to be pointless. I generally ignore the scores, and would be fine with just the text. I do, however, think the review should have mentioned the iPad incompatibility on the iPhone version. THAT is something that should hurt the review a bit.
Indeed and I contacted apple regarding the lock of the iPhone version on iPad and they offered a refund this isn't normal Square Enix is just being greedy
There shouldn't be any reasons why device incompatibility should factor into how good a game is. That's a problem with the developers, not the game. The app clearly states what devices can support the iPad and iPhone version. It isn't Apple's fault that the buyer purchases TWEWY blindly.
Just a reminder guys any discussion not related to the gameplay should be discussed in the thread in the General section
Has anyone figured out a way to get mingle working if you have no friends The DS version could pick up "aliens" worth mingle PP if you left it running. Its a shame if they didnt figure out a similar system for iOS.
I tried running the Mingle mode trade several times but all of them end up with the message that Bluetooth wasn't enabled. Tip: You can manipulate Shutdown PP by changing your iPhone date/time settings, it's the same as the DS version.
Having played the original ds version, I have to say, this version is better. the combat is great, feels like a brawler with so many different moves and variety. The graphics are top notch and the music is even better than before. One thing that surprised me was how well the twitter integration works. It fits perfectly considering that the thoughts of the population were inane and vapid in the original (and still are), but also, this perfectly equates to the tweets that appear too! Its Brilliant and a very immersive touch.
It's a free chat app similar to whatsapp except it's free (if it's available for download in your country). The best thing about LINE is that, we don't need contact numbers to add people. We just add them by the ID they've created within the app itself. I think those that do not have LINE should give it a try, and those that are really playing TWEWY here that has LINE should participate in the group chat. Maybe chats on Pin Locations/Walkthroughs/Secret Reports So, tell me your public ID The game is "deeper" than just finishing the game. Did a lot of TWEWY wikia research while at the game.
Are there a lot of subquests and/or replay factors to this game, enjoying the game so far but just wondering how far my money will take me!
