Sometimes money pins are quest items, especially 5-yen pins. Also, if you get unmastered money pins (from quest rewards) you have a chance to evolve them into larger money pins. Be warned that the 1000-yen pin actually evolves into a 1-yen pin, though. The 5000 evolves into the 10000. Hope that helps
Big gaming websites like IGN already made a review for the ios port it got 9.5/10 I'm sure this review will help a lot of people if you can't wait for the TA review. Here's the link: http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/08/27/the-world-ends-with-you-solo-remix-review
Ha-Ha I remember this when I played the DS version don't know why they made the 1000-yen pin evolve into 1-yen pin
Wow I'd forgotten this game was so complicated what with the different pin evolutions and the clothes and the food. What fun! Good music too. The music would sound better via headphones wouldn't it? Does anyone know, is it possible to buy good quality in-ear mono headphones (with good bass)? I can only find stereo ones, or single earpiece ones, or ones that don't say if they are stereo or mono, but mono ones must exist surely?
From: http://www.apple.com/accessibility/ipad/hearing.html I don't know if anyone would sell mono earbuds, but you can get the same effect via accessibility options.
Yeah the sound is definitely better via headphones ( using my Grado headphones ) although the bass is considered normal as for the in-ear headphones you might find what you're looking for in Amazon.
The price issue aside, I must admit I've also been somewhat scratching my head. Watched around 25 mins of Sanuku's videos patiently waiting to see some actual gameplay remotely approaching the levels of hype this title has generated before I gave up. Nope, I honestly don't get it. Then again, I've always had a giant blind spot for the Final Fantasy series as well (to put it as diplomatically as possible) so perhaps it isn't surprising. Guess I just like to play my games, not watch them.
While you can`t really compare the Game with the Final Fantasy Franchise I really would give you the Advise to play the Game longer (Day 4/5 or watch the Walkthrough till that Day). The Game really does open up with those Days and a lot of the other Game Mechanics do kick in and after that the Game does really get`s an "It now makes actual fun to play it since I see now how much there is behind it overall" Vibe..
There's plenty of actual gameplay. The start of the game is mostly story/character introduction, and easing you into learning the various systems.
Damn!! TA rated it 5 stars!(why don't I have an iPhone?!) *sob* *cry* *weep* AND it's out of stock on amazon! Graaahhhh!
As mentioned previously, it gets quite combat heavy as it goes. The beginning is more plot heavy than combat heavy for a few reasons. It's expository, it has to go through the combat tutorial, and you don't have many combat options yet. As you go, you collect pins. Each pin is basically a gesture. So combat becomes about combining various gestures over either enemies or environmental objects to combo particular effects together. Meanwhile, you're also evolving your pins Pokemon-style (can only deploy a subset, they get XP). There's also a lot of story. It is a JRPG, which means it's half-adventure-game. You either like that genre or you don't.
