    Also, I think I asked this, but what are the weapons?
    Shotgun, bolt action, revolver, handgun, M16/AR15?
    Melee?
    Can we see screens of the weapons?
    Or just a shotgun screen.

    No there aren't any other weapons, just your standard issue hand gun although your torch will also scare off few spirits. Its not really that type of game were you have to shoot endless amounts zombies. you will use your gun just as much to solve puzzles as you will shooting anything. Your more like fox mulder than rambo. Although the one gun you do have looks and sounds great an has dynamic lighting and physics based spent cartridges and particle effects.

    You should review some of this thread, ThreeCubes has posted a lot of insightful commentary about making a video game with such plush high resolution graphics and what goes into it. It would likely point out some flaws in games you might feel have superior graphics and be a good education on elements of game developer, at least I found it insightful. These guys really seem to know how to get the most graphically out of iOS parameters in my opinion. We may have to agree to disagree but I found The Woods to be a standout in terms of graphics.

    Hi all,

    Sorry for the delays blah blar blah. The good news is that the app store screen shots have been done and uploaded to apple as well as the new icon which we would like some feed back on :). We will be showing off the appstore screens shots soon once the trailer is done and we have actually announced the final name for the game.

    Hoping to upload a binary to apple next week for approval although this one will be used for beta testing.

    I know its been taking for ages but its due to making this a much better game rather than just a new map for the woods.

    any comments on the icon would be appreciated! its simple like year walk but with a hint of terror

    I hate the icon.

    The ghouls in the background are cool in a larger size item but icon size the detail is far too obscured it just looks like a wavy smoke pattern. Also, I think that icons with kinetic energy and a sense of motion or asympetrical graphics (like any one of the skeletons in the back) are more appealing for some reason.

    The red symbol could potentially be cool in a cryptic mysterious way I think the red symbol ultimately looks cheap. The red is too plain and clean that it looks almost like beta developer art. I would prefer a more raw symbol; like this [cue reference to best haunted woods movie since the Evil Dead]...

    Also nice pic from BWP. Twas a great one.
    At least it avoids the head icon syndrome.
    The ones where the icon shows the protag or the antag.
    Edit: Filesize and launch price please.

    Well we really wanted to avoid having the classic head shots for icons, it's not set in stone yet, was not 100% on the original woods icon. Thanks for the idea undeadcow we may have a few more cracks at the icon.

    In terms of file size it's going to be really small probably less than 60meg, the music is made up of lots of individual samples like midi combination so file size is small. Not sure if that will actually put people off it being so small.


    It will be tier 2 pricing which I think is less than 2dollars.

    The proposed red symbol could work nicely if it was tweaked somewhat. Right now I think it's so plain almost clashes with the detailed graphics shown so far for "The Woods Chapter 2" rather than complimenting the game.
    My opinion is that The Woods icon works well because the tree is clear and easily identifable at a small size and the green-blue hue pops out and even though smaller details usually fade icon size the pentagram feels creepy that way it's mingled into the tree shadow.

    Perhaps if you just had the red symbol in a black background, but made the red symbol creepier

    I think i know what your saying, if the symbol was perhaps more crudely draw (scratched in blood or something).

    As alex says as well more creepy.

    That second one is better but still not great. The red image texture helps but it also seems odd and out of place (is it suppose to be fire? crumpled paper? blood? ...it just seems random). The background is lost icon sized and looks like a distorted mess. The red symbol seems slightly smaller than it could be so there's weird negative space. I like the contrast of the bright red and dark black that makes it pop a bit and the silver board is nice. Also, nothing about the icon grabs me as something that I'd really want to play ("look a weird red symbol... Meh."); it seems too unfamiliar.

    Hmm how about putting up an "anti headshot" of the creepy girl from the vids. I always find photos of people that only show the neck down to be ridiculously creepy even if they aren't meant to be lol. Maybe it's just me though.
