You're right redribbon, Three cubes. I'm still going to buy the game to support your company but it would be cool to be part of the beta team, to make this game scare the crap out of people, lol
Lol, I get spooked out sometimes when it's late at night and I'm alone. My imagination gets the best of me. I had an extremely hard time playing the game, Amnesia at night ( who didn't ?) but I really think horror games, if done right can be awesome along with zombie and combat games.
Just working on the opening menus and start screen. There's a few bits of the audio still to work out. The name of the game will change rather than it being "the woods chapter 2 - something" It's just going to have a brand new name as its such a different style of game. While people Who liked the first will still love it there is so much more to bring in a broader crowd. Once we announce the new name we will start a new thread with a release trailer and new website (Ideally this week). Sorry for the delays but It will be all worth it. I will be talking about the fear/heart pulse/health system in the next few days too.
Honestly I was hoping you guys would do something like this. To be completely honest the woods sounds like it could be a Stephen king novel lol, of course in the end it's just a name but I feel like this game deserves something better haha. Anyways you guys are doing awesome and I can't wait to hear about the new mechanics! Am completely stoked for this but i'll wait as long as I have to lol. Definitely take your time if it means a more polished game in the end and no need to be sorry haha Supporting you guys 100%
Nice. I've been wanting a game like this without having to carry around a laptop. looks better than the first slender man game. Although Alan wake was more or less a disappointment for me..this seems to be a more promising experience.
well we are in bug fixing stage. I know its taking longer than expected put theres is puzzles/tasks in now which were not originally planned so at least there is something to show for the delays. Currently performance is great on an iPhone 4s we are getting 50-60fps a lot of the time and never drops below 45. ipad2 about the same and iPad 3 is a little less. the iPod 4g is about 25fps but its a smooth frame rate. we are using the phone/device tilt to bring up menus and objectives. so you just put the phone in the portrait position to load up the menus. You can save at almost any point although there is only one save slot (but you can use it as much as you want). Gameplay time is hard to really workout at the moment before beta but at a guess 2-3 hours to complete the story and find all the objects (don't quote us on this). There is not any sudden deaths (unless you drive off a cliff). unlike the woods/slender games we don't expect you to keep dying. Your health is based on your heart rate, if it goes up to much you get scared to death. it will slowly drop down (recharge) and you get less scared while driving so you need to be careful where you park. Its not really an all out action, kill 500 zombies kind of game, more slow building atmosphere and puzzles. Also worth noting although its a way longer more expansive game than the woods the file size is still small. Only around 60mb we were actually worried this may put people off as they might think theres not much content. Its mainly because the buildings are modular and made of instances of library or smaller components. Yes we still consider it a sequel, its a few years on and your more professional now working for a bigger paranormal research organisation. but you don't have to play the first to understand anything. On a side note the woods (One) will get an update with some of the graphical improvements at some point.
50-60 FPS on a 4S? So a solid 60 on i5/iPad 4? Awesome Take your time with the polishing, and feel free to add a few extra goodies for A6 devices soft shadows and fully dynamic lighting, if you don't already have them, would be a great addition to a horror game like this. Anyhow, looking forward to the release. There's a real drought of horror games on iOS. By the way, is there real physics with the car driving?
Yes the car has 4 independently suspend wheels and is 4 wheel drive. Its quite fun bouncing around, theres even a few jumps. Iphone 4s screen>
Ok, well I bought the 1st one about a month ago to support you guys I really like it Keep up the great work Edit: I know this might be a bit early, but do you think the ""7 Deadly Dolls" will be realeased during or after summer?
Thanks for your support, all the money is going into new games. Depending on how well woods does may effect the release date of 7DD. If we get a bit more cash flow it will be quicker but I think we are looking just after summer but before Halloween.
