Actually if you read more closely, in the post where they mention the changes, post #1365 on June 18, they say that they have been working on these changes for several weeks, which meant that they knew about them when they posted on June 3 that they would be releasing the demo, the beta and the game by the end of the month. Now they seem to contradict themselves any number of times and the thread since June is full of unmet deadlines and promises.
Your mistake is that I care when this game is released, and I really don't. I don't really care when they release the game. It's done when it is done. I just wish they'd stop making public statements, promises, commitments, or whatever term you wish to use, that they obviously cannot keep.
Someone already made this point. Honestly does it matter, yes they might lose your interest in the project and by extension your sale, but this is an INDIE company. As I stated indie development isn't a concrete subject. It releases when they finish it. Yes they have said this and that and failed to uphold some of the "promises" but we haven't paid for the game and we aren't funding it, so we can't try to control it.
I have, but it appears you didn't read my post, it wasn't about how close to completion the game was, it was about questioning the game's existence, based on the time this game has been in dev. Also, it could be in development for months, that doesn't mean it's not "early development" anymore.
I'm sorry if this angers people, but that guy does make a good argument of it being fake aha sorry just my opinion. The point about no gameplay videos or anything are very valid. However, toucharcade members have been known to push developers straight off the forums, if we can recall the block legends or whatever that game was drama. I still think this game will come out, but if it truly is a prank (which it probably isn't) creds to the devs, you certainly did a hell of a job. Flawless plan. And creds if not, I'm sure your game will do amazingly on the app store
I don't think anybody gets angry when you state your opinion. But when I see kids throwing tantrums about not getting a video and such, I just roll my eyes and mock them, but that's just me. However, complaining about that is just not valid, at all, that is why I mock them. At least you recognize that the iOS gamer community is a shitty one, if not the shittiest lol If the game does come out, it will make those who said it wouldn't come out look like dumbasses, and I'll be here to mock them a bit more, if the game doesn't come out, those of us who believed in it, would've really lost nothing, not a thing. So I guess, carry on? Yeah.
Wow, a few of you guys sure ruined this forum... There was amazing convocation, everyone was friendly, we all loved how the devs would communicate with us, but no.. You guys have to wine like little spoiled kids... Who cares if they take awhile or if they fall a behind on their word. Shit happens in life. We can't assume they aren't working their hearts out or give them shit about their promises when something could have came up for them...
i're read the thread and I wholehearthly agree with everything you said but... this statement seems to be stupid really. you can say this the other way around too. if the game DOES come out they (non belivers) wouldve lose nothing, if the game DOESN'T come out, believers would come out like dumbasses.
I spoke to the dev and hes been ill recently. Someone said 'well cant the other guy carry on with it' i'm sure he could but perhaps the other person whos under the weather is the one who can do the video Either way its getting embarassing seeing wild accusations being thrown about, vapourware etc, insulting to the dev. Many games just 'turn up' and theres no interaction with the developer. I prefer interaction and seeing how a game develops over the months (or years) but the second a games delayed or a picture/video is a day or two late out come the whiners. Just be patient, there'll be days when the dev promises something and then a new graphic or video might be a week or two late for a legitimate reason, just be patient. I'm sure the dev wants to get back to working on it like anything. But the second he doesnt post then please dont stop with ridiculous OTT theories or vapourware rubbish. I remember how much of an idiot the guy looked who thought Oceanhorn would never see the light of day. At the end of the day the devs ill, so just be patient
That means it's Zombies Apparently no one saw this... Wow this has turned into the ass forum. Tell people why they're wrong in stating they're opinions. Post a bunch of vapourware and wine about missed updates. Get your shit checked by other forum members. I wish they could just leave the Devs alone. We have no loss if it doesn't exist, and there's already other games similar to the genre in development.
Exactly! We need to let the devs do their thing and people can have their beliefs about the game but don't make a big fuss if you don't think the game is real. But what is like to know, what other games in this genre are in development? This is the only one I could dig up...
How can the game be upon early development when the developers said that they were almost finished over a month ago? Please explain.
Doesn't sound that bad but I can't find any screenshots, I know it says look on the Facebook part but I can't find it... Edit: never mind I found them, for a FTP it looks pretty good.
Hey fellas! I lurk around this thread a lot because I'm really excited about this game. It seems very unique and has a ton of potential. I have my own feelings about the whole "broken promises" discussion, but to hopefully get away from some of the more negative, mocking and biting comments that have been driving this thread in the last few days, I wanted to talk about something else. Not to try to invalidate anyone's argument (because people on both sides of the discussion are making some excellent points), but I wanted to talk about the "The Wild". Getting to that, I wanted to toss out an idea that was running through my head as a drove around today. I'd love to hear what you guys think. I really enjoy games where there is some kind of animal companion that you can have accompany you during your quest (the Fable games, Junk Jack X, WoW, Skyrim, etc.), that can either just travel with you, or ideally, fight for you when you need. I was wondering if having an animal companion could work for this game. For example, because food will probably be scarce, you could choose to (at some point when you see or capture a wild wolf/dog), choose to give it a piece of food. This then would prompt the animal to be more prone to follow you and want to protect you. Giving it more food, or protecting it, would strengthen your bond. So, you are taking the chance of trading some much needed food/shelter/etc., for an animal companion who would then protect you and give you company. From my own personal opinion, that would make me very invested in this animal and in staying alive and could lead to a I Am Legend type of relationship. In this, because you are all alone in this strange, hostile, desert world, you would be very protective of this animal, and it of you. Obviously, there would be no requirement for people to have an animal companion, it would be optional. I'm sure I haven't thought this completely through, and this may in some people's (or everyone's but my) opinion, take the game in a direction that isn't true to what type of game it is. This was just something I wanted to share and was wondering if anyone else would find it fun. I hope everyone is having a great day and I look forward to your thoughts
