Dont get me wrong, im all hyped up for this game and stuff, and i understand 100% that it isn't easy to make a video game - especially for such a small team... But the fact that you guys have kinda been promising videos and stuff for the past month and a half or so is kind of like turning me off... I guess what im trying to say is like... Maybe you guys kinda shouldn't say you're going to release something until you kinda have it all sorted out and are completely certain you can reach the deadline you guys set for yourselves. Im trying my best not to sound rude, i mean this from a professional standpoint. I still support you guys and am patiently waiting for this game, but dates and times aren't really meaning anything to me anymore, and i'd hate for you guys to lose any fans because of this. Keep up the great work guys
New updates on the way! @SIRD4SH When we drop the new updates it will be obvious why we've pushed time a little. Now that technical development is winding down we've had a chance to really challenge ourselves in making The Wild a truly unique experience. From the first person experience to the setting, locations, and modes of transportation, everything has been refined or rethought, and in the not too distance future, y'all will get see what we mean. -Daniel
So... I will try not to sound rude but... How do you predict when it's done? Cuz I've been waiting 4 like 7 months! Thank you
The technicals will be done today or tomorrow- finishing the AI/combat. This brings all the core mechanics to shippable for v1: 1-Player First Person Experience (FP UX) with the full body rigged-up. 2-Survival Mechanics - food, blood, water levels 3-Looting with Inventory UI 4-Crafting campfire and emergency shelter 5-AI/Combat We'll have the rest of the month to bring our A game making this a kickass product , and not just tech. You'll see in our next update just how far we've refined and rethought things like the world landscape, transportation, and more! You see, now that we're finishing the tech phase, we've had a chance to see how we could make The Wild unique, planned accordingly and within the next days you'll see precisely what I mean. Thanks as always for your thoughts feedback! -Daniel
Take your time and be methodical. Rushing development to appease consumers isn't good for either party. This game looks amazing and I am hopeful for a great release!
Badmz, We are a two man operation, we proudly use the unity asset store for resources for our game- as that's one of the big leverage points of Unity Game engine. Not to mention we give thanks to unity and the unity asset store on our first page post and our website. I'm on the thread daily answering questions, enhancing the game based on great community feedback, talking about our weekly plans and goals- so I haven't exactly been keeping anyone on the forum in the dark. I have faith that when we showcase our newest build you'll instantly see why we've taken some extra time to make The Wild something really unique and a blast to play. -Daniel
I think you missed the thrust of Badmz's comment. He wasn't saying that he doesn't care about the product, he was saying that he doesn't care about the length of time needed to make the game fun and complete. We all want to play this game, and we all want it to succeed. It is something entirely new on the App Store and we're all very excited for it, that's why we're here. What Badmz was saying, something I think a lot of us agree with, is that constantly promising a look at the game and then not delivering sours well deserved hype very quickly. If you aren't ready to show off the game, just don't show it! That is absolutely fine. But in ANY situation, making promises you can't keep is a bad idea.
SSIRD4SH is not right, nor are you BADMZ. The iOS is a platform that has spoiled gamers into demanding things they're not entitled to demand. The industry is filled with unmet promises, but make no mistake, the developers owe you or anyone else nothing.
I haven't read anybody "demanding" anything from the Devs or otherwise,.. Just posts expressing disappointment - Which, when statements or promises are not kept is a natural emotion - after all we are only human lol For a small outfit I think these guys are doing a standup job at building the hype and promoting the game which is all part of the "game" so to speak. Just sit back and enjoy the ride guys. Peace out.
Totally disagree. The problem now with the net and game development is that people want updates 24/7. The second a date/month is mentioned and nothing is shown then people start crying out it may be a scam or just said to keep the hype going Totally disagree with that. Timescales change and bugs appear. If they release it and there's issues people will moan. I remember some users thinking Oceanhorn was never going to come out Just be patient
