Great to hear! (Wasn't meaning to nag/put pressure on you! If that's the impression I gave?) Love where you guys are going with this, and your dedication to responding to questions and suggestions is something to be respected.
Hey SirHanet! We are solely working on getting the controls, and core gameplay down 100% (survival mechanics, looting, base building, combat). Thanks to you and the community we've been able to distill what are the core features that y'all want vs. what are updates that we can add value to the core after launch. (ex, v1.5 update with wildlife, craftable bow and arrow, being able to light wood on fire, v2 airdrops and farming). Hopefully with this example you can more clearly see how the updates add value to the core experience. not the other way around (which is the mess we see in some other titles).
Ah! I was just wondering because this is an ambitious (Did I spell that correctly?) project since it's being compared to DayZ/Rust!
Hi Mark-HC! Thanks for your kind words! We plan on rolling the game out internationally at the same time.
Will there be climbing gear in the game? Just wondering because it would be AMAZING to be able to climb the Nanga Parbat mountain itself.
Oh and also if you have weapons have a certain life, at least give us the possibility to repair it if it breaks because I hate games where I get a great weapon but I know it won't last. Also don't add penalties when the weapon is damaged because that can get annoying. I hope you don't add weapon health for certain weapons or a magic crystal or a rare item that you can craft with weapons that make their life last forever.
I think having penalties on a damaged weapon would be a great idea, but once it's repaired the stats go back to normal.
I would be fine with it only of there was an attachment you could put on it that was hard to find that let your weapon never lose health. And certain weapons should not have health. Personally I do not like weapons that have health, because it is just another unnecessary thing to worry about.
Certainly see the value of the climbing gear/boots as it could reduce food intake while climbing steeps inclines and perhaps unlock areas previously unattainable because it was too steep. This seems like a no brainer add-on content update after v1. nice thinking guys!
We're not touching degradation until we ship v1. That's the sort of thing where it's got to be fun and valuable, not be a pain in the ass mechanic. As a larger part of gameplay, I could see it adding value.
Thanks for your patience everyone! Working our ass off getting this ready for prime-time. I can assure everyone that we've really nailed responsive controls, and UI is also very very responsive. Also, the frame-rate on iPhone 5 (1gig ram iOs devices) run super smooth. Don't be discouraged if you have an older iOS device with less than 1gig ram, this is just the beginning. -Daniel
Can't wait for the video,I hope it displays enemy a.i properly.I love splinter cell games for one thing that they are lightning dependent and enemies discover you the same way you see them,I just hope the enemies have a good solid a.i which rects appropriately to sights and sounds.
Out of the gate we're supporting all 1gb ram devices and up. Subsequent update will yield 512 mb ram support. Thanks for asking. Being that it's just the two of us making it, we've got to spend as much time leading up to v1 focusing on gameplay and content. -Daniel
