(The devs told me to post this question on the forums so they can see what yall think about it)

Will there be an option to turn zombies on and off?

It would be cool so you could consantrate on building and surviving but you would get good loot and it sort of takes the point of the game isn't it a day survival a and it would be like cheating

I thought this was supposed typo be in a desert with various biomes/habitats. Has that changed?

A trip to our local national forest here in Vermont influenced us to try something new and different - based the biome and season off of where we live - in the Green Mountains. :D

    AI and NPCs

    Hey yall,

We're very excited to showcase the zombie hordes- the quality and the sheer amount of them we can get away with using trumps our efforts with using the deformed models. We're still using the same AI as deformed so I wouldn't go blasting the rifle around without thinking about the consequences... :)

In many ways this is shaping up to quite the single player role-play of The Walking Dead style zombie apocalypse simulation. You can see how the pc games DayZ and The Forest influenced how we've made this - plus with the environment of our local winter lakes and mountains here in Vermont.

    Images soon!

    :D

Dev Update: Initial Efforts with Zombie Hordes

    Here we go!

You can see brains, guts and all! Here's the horde of zombies. Even the quality of seeing their retinas is wicked great right?
I love that their jaws move now too.

    Are those the final models?

I like their face, but the white highlights on the models look weird to me, it'd be cool if they contrasted with the white of the map, like with dark dirty bloody clothes, with just a bit of snow coming in their lower legs or something.

C'mon, "deformed" is just another word for zombies lol it's the house brand, like "clickers" from The Last of Us, "infected" in whatever or "walkers" in the walking dead.

That's how I see it, anyway.

But in my very humble opinion, I don't like the body textures, the heads I like though.

After play testing, we were having trouble making 2-4 deformed fun, so we found a way in which we could get fun horde expereinces. Currently we have some that are fast like in 28 Days Later, and some slower like in Dawn of the dead. The walking dead show has both for reference.

In terms of the blood texture, I totally agree about the low resolution. went ahead and removed that low res texture.

Thanks for the support and feedback yall! :D

I'm making sure we have some patches of dead zombies washed up and frozen on the shore.

P.s we envisioned the zombies as patients that overan the islands security. That's why we have abandoned military watch towers and such. Will make way for the military arrival in the later update.:D

Zombies graphics res looks low, polygons..
Also, are they meant to rush at you and attack you? If so, be good if they are "looking at you" , some of the screens looks like they are running towards you but looking elsewhere.
