FYI. On their facebook page, the following message: TestFlight beta will begin on this date (December 28th, 2014). We are pleased to see so many of you liking the progress and direction of THE WILD. Thanks everyone for your support and feedback.
THE WILD: dev update Hey y'all, So we've finished with the process of the world. We ultimately were inspired by the spring time here in Vermont. Firstly, a colder environment makes the environment itself more intense, and more importantly it adds some realism and importance to the campfire in staying warm (gain comfort status in the game). Secondly, opting to replace green grass with golden wheat grass gives us the ability to greatly extend the draw distance which greatly adds to the immersion of being stranded on boreal island. and doesn't make the fog wall so intense. We're running 35-50fps on iPhone 5, which we are very happy about. iPhone 5s and above are higher. Almost equivalent on iPads. (Slightly lower at 30-45fps) Loading THE WILD is wicked fast, 20 secs on iPhone 5, and around 14secs on iPhone 5s and above. (equivalent on iPads) Overall, we are very impressed with how it runs on the iPhone 5 and equivalent iPad. To launch, we are ensuring that the island has lots of zombies with fun AI. (ai = line of sight, vision cone, and the ability to hear). I am very excited to showcase the last bits of 1.0 gameplay, then we'll be moving swiftly into TestFlight with yall. P.S If we can finish the zombies in the next day or too, we want to add log crafting so that you have both emergency crafting and long-term fort building. But no worries, if log crafting doesn't fit the time-schedule for launch, then we'll simply make that the first update.
Some more shots of the game at about 80% overall complete Before showcasing the images, i'd thought it best to provide you with an overview. We have two main areas to improve upon to then swiftly launch v1.0. 1) we still need to ensure solid # of hordes of zombies and a 2) tighten player UX ex- better footsteps sound fx, flies soundfx near zombies, lie sounds fx near some POIs (points of interests). Also we are adding tree fort as more advanced shelter. (Currently you can craft 1) emergency shelter, 2)campfire (stoke to keep fuelled), and 3) emergency barrier wall. You'll see the blue prints for these in some of the images. Lastly we're going to do the main menu in real-time 3d looking at the crash site and into the forest. Thanks for the love and support y'all. Means a lot. P.SWe've had the Skyrim soundtrack playing for days on end!
Indeed we will be updating THE WILD with seasons that correspond to the Green Mountains/Adirondacks where we live. Also very excited to finish tree fort building.
Game looks awesome also hope this brings more people to posting can't wait hope you guys can finish fort building #
Finally! I was really afraid of The Wild becoming the next Forgotten Memories, glad to see that we are close to a release, but can I ask about A5 compatibility?
I got a question for the Devs will there be ghillie suits I had a idea that when multiplayer comes or earlier that we would be able to hide from people and zombies
