Yeah to be fair i should update my signature. When icade games were coming out i was buying nearly all of them (have a huge iCade folder on my ipad)

As for the fog, i personally dont think its a showstopper. Yeah it would be 'nice' but to say you wont buy it due to the fog i think is extreme. I mean the 'fogging' wont ruin it at all.

Dang. I doubt iphone 5 could handle less fog very well in the first place... But you guys need to chill because he said thats on iphone 5 i bet itll be better for the newer ios devices.

I believe in Daniel so just quick whining about everything!!!

Daniel is my HERO!!! Lol but seriously you can make a point but then its like u gotta keep replying and getting back and its annoying. If you want to argue like little kids go friend each other on facebook or something

You really are misunderstanding what the iPhone is actually capable of and focusing on hardware specs alone.
Hardware specs do not tell the full story. Far from it.

What we have here from these guys, fog an all, is actually pretty cutting edge and a substantial achievement for what devices they are putting it on, irrelevant of the hardware spec sheets as they compare to other "platforms".
The comparisons to other gaming platforms and their specs couldn't be more irrelevant as they leave out so many software and energy related properties, along with everything else an iDevice is doing at any given time, that I wouldn't even attempt to explain to a spec focused person.

The simple fact is, fog or not, what these guys are achieving here is extremely impressive considering what they are putting it on and what else they plan to add over updates.
I've very little doubt that this will be one of the standouts of this year especially so from a small independent team.

Well You have a point to an extent but there's a certain level or quality of graphics that is to be expected and that amount of fogging is not acceptable.Imagine not being able to see the whole world in front of you clearly, that would certainly not be fun.

I think people are underestimating the power of these devices,Even as you said if you give away 50% of cpu,gpu and ram to OS that's still more power available to devs than a Vita.I should have respective expectations of an ios game released in 2014 on an iphone 5s which is an expensive machine.Games should resemble console quality graphics by now and here we are defending n64 type fogging,It's not acceptable.

There are very few games which take advantage of hardware like RR3 and Ravensword,Shadowgun etc.All of them were released at the time of 4s or when iph5 was just introduced.5s is 'twice' a powerful and these graphics aren't 'half' as good and still barely run at 30fps,Not acceptable. It barely runs at 25-30fps on iph5 which is ridiculous considering the graphics.

I know that they're indie and K have a lot of respect for these guys but I'm a gamer at heart and I love to see the possibilities being realised fully,I hate to play unfinished shell of a game that could've been great which is 99% of the appstore not counting ports. For once I want to play a quality game which delivers on it's promises and I want the Wild to be the one that actually does that.

There are always these tech demos shown at every launch and only a handful games actually utilise those, I remember RR3 being showcased on iph5 and it's still the best looking game on appstore 2 years later, which is a shame. It's like buying a gtx titan and playing angry birds on it,disappointing.

Anyway it's not the graphics but how much of the fog is covering the screen and blocks view in front of you that's my problem,It shouldn't be like that I've played open world psp games with an emulator on my 5s which do a better job,So it's definitely not the question of whether it can handle it or not.

Or just forget all thay just answer this simple question,Do you believe 16 player Mp is feasible on ios devices or not?

:exactly::goodpost: (too bad we don't have those emojis here lol)

He's the only one expressing that opinion so I'm sure they'll leave the fog as it is.

It's clear to me (having see other pictures without the fog) that the fog isn't a technical shortcut, it's an aesthetic choice, Silent Hill didn't have heavy fog just so the game could run better, the sense of claustrophobia was essential to the immersion of the game and to wear down the player, anyone not seeing that isn't a good gamer.

    Fog rules.

ummmm actually i remember when silent hill 1 came out Keiichiro Toyama told in an interview that the fog was intended to hide the draw distant so they can show a lot more at close range but after the fog helped the mood and the suspense that it became part of the game, back then it was a trick, have the fog so what ever you don't see is not there now we have optimized LOD so devs don't need fogs, i might be wrong but i'm 99% positive that was the case.
saying that i would love to see fog it gives the game a sense of unknown but as long as it doesn't look like a white wall that moves back the more you move forward, if you can walk in the fog that would be technically impressive.

    ^THIS^

The thing is that the fog doesn't look like fog, it looks like low draw distance.

Please look outside and tell us that it's really that foggy?

I mean this is turning into a tropical setting. Unless it's a usual thing in your area, or it's humid outside, it's really never that foggy. Now new ideas aren't a problem, is just that this is kind of unexpected and is really a game changer.

How about the option to turn it off or keep it on to please both sides?

I can understand some people might not like the way the fog is looking, on the other hand i'm just veryyyyy surprised saying its a game changer and people might hold off buying it due to the way the fog looks. All i'm saying is a 'show stopper' ? Really ?

Bet the dev regrets posting stuff here now ! He cant win, whatever he posts will get criticised !

It's the same way you won't buy platformers with swipe controls, for example. I don't see what the big deal is.

they might not be able to have an option to turn it off and on because if it is intended to have a shorter draw distance then if the fog is not there you wont see anything it be empty object will just pop in the closer you get, i believe the best thing is for locations that is more small and manageable they take away the fog and for bigger locations optimise as much as they can with LOD's and implement the fog in a way that you feel like you need fog this place is foggy, tell you the truth i don't know what engine they are using it looks like Unity if it is i believe with optimisation and some developing techniques its possible.

This,Alan wake for example utilises fogging too and does it extemely well,The wild on the looks like it's hiding scenery behind it.Skyrim has fog when it rains but it's organic and not like turok where you can't see what's ahead of you.

Also people notice that the amount of objects drawn and the distance to which they're drawn is done by the cpu via Drawcalls(In skyrim anyway),The A7 is equivalent to 2010 edition of Macbook in terms of cpu power,(Check geekbench for both). There's no reason for the fogging to exist infact Nimian legends has '0' fog and that's without metal support(metal increases draw calls to 10 times),That's just a one man studio who pulled it off.

The people complaining should go and make their own games.
