From the speed of these updates it looks like I'll need to go and buy another Itunes gift card because you guys are working hard to get this out
Could we still expect a release date by the end of this month? Or would it now be early to mid September?
It sounds like they are aiming for a September 21st submission to apple, based on twitter. I think that sounds about right considering ToonuvaGames progress updates so far. So there's probably about a week or more of development and beta setup. Then the rest of the time will be used for a quick beta test and to fix any bugs. After that it will probably take about a week for apple's approval process. So hopefully 4 more weeks of waiting . Hope all goes accordingly. The developers deserve it. @ToonuvaGames By the the way can't wait to play this awesome game you guys created.
How independant are the deformed's AI? I mean are they inevitably drawn to you like a terrifying magnet wherever you are? or do they need to see/come across you to know you exist and then act from there? It's probably been asked (maybe me even?) but do they go about their own lives hunting/gathering/breeding when you're not around. Also are they going to be able to tell you've been there if the terrain is altered slightly (e.g cut down trees/gathered resources)? because that would be amazing. this game continues to look promising !
Going to have one heck of a week showcasing vast amounts of gameplay! And after much trail and error, we're really excited to showcase the game world. -Daniel
Dev update: beginnings of a cold, dark island Still much to do to make the game world awesome, but I thought you'd like to see some progress. The fiery oranges and redsofm warm campfire amongst the cold silvery blue cold island is simply gorgeous!!
We're going with winter for a variety of reasons. Firstly, we live in winter for half the year up here in northern Vermont!! Secondly it puts a lot of emphasis on staying warm- which means campfires, torches, barricading are all super super important. Therefore finding an axe, and chopping trees down become super important. Lastly, giving the deformed a blue white hue is terrifying, and polar bear fights will be awesome! Just a short run down of how we came to this decision. P.s - Elephant island in Antarctica, which is famous for the great Shackleton survival expedition, features a place called point Wild... -Daniel
So the game will now take place in a Tundra instead of a forest? I'm having mixed feelings about that decision as I wanted a The Forest-like experience, but a Tundra would be awesome, I can't get a solid opinion so soon, but I'm still going to excited about The Wild
You misread. The game has biomes, kind of. It seems there is a desert, forest and now winter wasteland. This is a sci-fi industrial themed game. So, I mean what planet distant planet doesnt have all the climates right next to eachother.
Most certainly will be forests, just rare! The winter sets up survival to be that much more intense as a baseline. So therefore the same qualities of the dune landscape we all discussed but again, taken to the extreme because of the Antarctic weather/atomsphere. Remember we're just showcasing where we're at in world dev, it's far from complete, far from being full of wildlife, trees, industrial complexes, deformed wood settlements etc. -Daniel
Ah, thank god, sorry for the misreading but now I really wonder how everything will be connected as a Sandbox (If it is). Thanks for the response @Scope_Reflex and @ToonuvaGames!
