Stage 7 is where the difficulty definitely takes a jump. I've only tried it once but the enemy GEAR demolished all of my GEARs. I'll have to plan it out a little better this time. It is like Fire Emblem with permanent deaths right?
No perma-death -- each character plays a big part in the plot, so it wouldn't really work. In most battles you can lose everyone but the Blue Wing and still win. In others, there are other key GEARs that must survive (usually based on where you are in the story). The difficulty doesn't ramp up all at once, and you will sometimes go from a hard-as-nails battle to something a bit more forgiving. The mini-boss battles can be fairly easy sometimes (but fun), but the big boss ones are damn tough. So far, the hardest one I've encountered is stage 18 -- took me at least 4 tries. If you end up stuck on a stage, chances are that you are not approaching it very tactically. Terrain and will are very important, and sometimes taking out the rank-and-file first can really make a difference.
For those that double-dipped or own the iPad version. Should I get WoE on the iPad or should I get this one?
Yeah after years of playing Fire Emblem I'm used to strategically placing my people on the best terrain possible. Knowing there's no perma-death is nice though. And I certainly agree with taking out the standard scouts, etc. first. I'm gonna give it another go now.
When yours crashed, did it restart you at exactly the same point you were at before the crash? This confuses me, since perma-death is almost the main feature of Fire Emblem.
Yep. It crashed me right as I was about to enter combat, and started me right in the spot I was at before I initiated combat.
It depends. As you would expect, the interface works better on the bigger iPad screen, but the field graphics look better on a smaller screen. The save system lends itself well to on-the-go gaming, though the battles are long and benefit from more concentrated gameplay (which I find easier on the iPad). Sorry I can't be more helpful .
Yeah, it was really no big deal, it just took me out of the zone a bit is all. Someone earlier in the thread did say that their device rebooted itself upon their crash however, so that might occur at times. Sometimes my device just reboots itself for no apparent reason at all ever since I updated to 3.x software though, so who knows why that happens.
I noted the device reboot. Hopefully they develop a patch for this bug soon, and decrease waiting time to load up windows. I'm not really fond of the robot theme, but since this is the only game that has some resemblance to Fire Emblem and probably the only SRPG in the entire appstore I don't really have a choice but to enjoy it.
Heya, loving the game thus far but I have a question! In the altering GEAR screen, is the red numerical after the current value/boosted value(after using the upgrade stone/ore/whatever)/Red number. Just wondering if that is the cap, or whatever. Example: Huben Draknir HP: 3020/3070 (fire ore highlighted) / 3420 (that last one is the red number)
After playing around for an hr or so. Notice a few things worth fixing up for older versions. Still have no crashes yet, but I always use freememory or what not before I play. There is noticable stall: -when you target an enemy (blue reticle) -when you open your ability list -during battle in which you miss most of your attack animation due to lag.
Sorry for my ignorance. BTW, I think TA should write something about this in the front page so more readers would about this game.
You may want to pass along that info directly to Ember at iQuibi ([email protected]). Not that we shouldn't hear about it in this forum , but I think it would do the most good if you also contacted them directly. @currymutton: as always, a polite email to [email protected] is the best way to make that happen.
anyone know how to reset the game? mine just started into the first mission - no introduction, no tutorial. it seems like the game is already in progress.
It's like a movie: you start with in middle of the action scene, then it pauses for the titles and credits. Don't worry, it's really tough to screw up that first mission.
