I cleared it a while ago but thanks for the tips anyway. I realized I had missed a few characters (I think 2-3) so decided to restart the game.
was playing that stage earlier today. nonstop missing at 80~90% and nonstop getting hit at 30~40%. this cpu is freaking cheating
I have just started the game - finished mission 3, and I wonder, should I hoard enhancements? So far I have been applying them immediately, but will I lose certain characters/gears as the story progresses? Or maybe will I have to rely on certain character more than others? Also, does it make sense to shore up gear's weaknesses or strengths? Like, I have been giving armor to Rimsol, but maybe I should try to make the others even more impenetrable instead?
-Its OK to apply them immediately, I think. Well, I managed to max out most of the stats of those gears. -you won't lose any gear, only gain (its possible to lose yughelle at later stage of the game) -against very strong gears, you definitely have to rely on tianerx and huben draknir -Rhimstol is rarely getting hit. Spend armor on other gears, like yughelle.
-I don't remember whether his stats maxed up or not after rebirth -I'm not really sure about this, but Tia, after she went outburst and collapse, later will have to choose, 'be stronger' or 'do the best'. I chose the former during my second play and Harvey stays alive, healed by Eshranah, later on.
Enjoying it very much - it would have been a truly great game, but for the obnoxious story. They tried to go for funny, but it is really not. Too bad, since the art of story sequences is quite nice. But gameplay is excellent. A couple of things I don't yet quite get, though: What does increasing "agility" with Quicken mean? More criticals? Better evasion? What's the deal with elemental affinities? Which element is stronger against which? And what colors stand for what element? Given that "dragon" and "thunder" are both extra elements and there are the 4 traditional ones too, 5 colors seem to be too few... Do the forks in the story really change things? I.e. plains versus mountains, etc.? I hoped to get an extra gear out of going through the plains, but nope. TIA!
i think dragon is fire and thunder is wind. there are only 4 elements, and you can see which is stronger when you attack others. the arrow goes up and down at the right hand side of the weapon.
It shortens the time required to move again. That means the pilot's next turn will come more quickly. All elementals are categorized to 4 kinds. Dragon belongs to Fire, but it's considered a higher level unique elemental, meaning there's no other GEAR with Dragon elemental other than Huben Draknir. Same goes to Thunder, it belongs to Wind. * Blue - Water * Green - Wind * Yellow - Earth * Red - Fire * Gray - Neutral. No elemental or Elementals that does not belong to any one of the four. There's no fixed affinity between elementals, though you might find some tendency between elementals. The most important is the how the field affects to elementals. For example, Fire is weak on water or on snow. Wind is strong on slope, waterside and tree. This affects most of the parameters including accuracy, agility, defense and attack power. Check the top right panel. On battle, each weapon's power is adjusted depending on target's elemental. You can see that most of Tiarnerx's weapons are more powerful on Earth elementals. You can find lots of information about branches and stories if you read the whole thread.
Check the iqubi forum. Someone prepared it. Not walkthrough but sth more like tips/guideline. Pretty helpful.
darn i missed a few fight character already. guess i will do a bad ending for this time and try to fight Ascard next time.
Can someone give some advice for beating Ellion on level 7? I can kill all his minions with no problem but then he just come over and smacks my lead guy just once and he dies and the game ends. I've tried every strategy I can think of but nothing seems to work. It's getting to the point where I'm just going to give up soon.
Sounds really familiar. Is that the stage with a huge lake in the middle and a peninsula near turn middle? If so I moved the bulk of my team to the bottom left corner (should be high mountains there) and that strip of land. The main issue was that the heavy hitters on your team do poorly on water. I was getting crushed then tried that strategy and won. I think I even posted up a better description in here (you can search this thread to find it)
Hey thanks for the tips! I didn't know that you don't have to fully destroy Ellion. Just do him some damage and he'll leave. So thankfully I beat that level and am now getting my butt beat on level 9! BTW...is there a way to know enemies hit-points or how much damage they've taken before you battle them? Sometimes I've battling so many enemies at once I forget which ones I've damaged already and which ones are fresh. The computer seems to know this as it always gangs up on my gear with the lowest hit-points.
If you tap the Tactics button (on the bottom left) you can check the enemies list to see the status of all enemy units and pilots. The problem with that is if there are multiples of a unit then you still don't have a good idea of which is which. It's much easier for them to tell which of your units are weak since they are all unique.
Didn't really play this for a loooong time. Not sure why. Finally sank into it a couple days ago and I'm hooked. Really good SRW/SRPG clone. Is this a Japanese developer? The manga illustrations look authentic enough but I can't tell sometimes. Also, yeah, overall the elemental part of the game confuses me. Are we just supposed to know (without numbers) what terrain is advantageous for which element? Because the terrain C and D stats are always the same no matter who you put on the square. Too much of the strategy in this game feels like a black box. I'd love to know how all the parts work so I can actually strategize. That said, I'm on mission 9 I think (when you meet 2 new characters from the Knights). Mission 7 was a pain in the ass but I got through it by staying in the mountains and camping there. Ellion still killed all my dudes except Blue Wing and I managed to damage him enough for him to leave.
C + D do change but its based on the terrain type and the unit you are using next to C+D are 4 grey slashes that show you advantage. The grey slash is neutral and a chevron (^) appears if it's advantageous with the size and intensity of the chevron showing the amount. If you are at a disadvantage the chevron will point down. hope that helps
