If you've read much manga or watched enough anime, you'll recognize the storytelling style immediately. If you can get past that (and the grammar errors) the story is actually pretty great. The world itself is well developed, with a coherent mythology and convincing political and economic system (in fact, you can easily draw analogies with the conflict between North and South Korea). The relationship between the characters is pretty convincing too (they have nicknames for each other -- how often do you see that in fantasy/SF games). The whole thing gets deeper as you make your way through the game. Personally, I care about the fates of all my characters (yes, even annoying Tia). If it's any consolation, around stage 10 they really dial down the soapy part of the story. In a way, Tia's characterization sets her up well for her more heroic turn later on in the game.
Finally finished the game, got it a couple days ago and have been playing it ever since. The ending I got was kind of dull, I'm going to take another run-through and make some different choices to see if I can get a better one. All in all for people that want advice - max out Huben Draknir first. He's actually pretty weak in the first 15 stages compared to the other powerful guys like the Magnificent Four (even if he's maxed out), but things change as the story progresses...
How many total stages are there? Or will it always be different depending on the path you take? I'm still playing the iPad version since I've been busy with school for the past 2 months, but I'm back to playing it now
I think there is some hyperbole here. The grammar/spelling errors are probably the least I've seen, having played and seen a multitude of Japanese/Korean games on the Appstore. I was a lot more comfortable reading this than Inotia 2 or Zenonia 2 dialogue. Regarding the heroine, I guess that's up to personal taste, but she seems to be written better than most other heroines in JRPGs/anime, who are generally weak, quiet, abhor violence of any kind and usually come with some sort of innate desire to do absolutely anything for their 'friends' who they just met. It's refreshing to see a more confident heroine, and I don't really think it's 'bullying'. Party banter is always good to see in RPGs. Also, I'm on mission 4 now and I've yet to actually experience a single crash, which is weird.
That's what I did, but it does make getting though 18 a big (but doable) challenge. BTW, I got only to stage 21 on the iPad version before I started again on the iPhone, so I won't be much help after that one .
I'm not even sure that I'll get to stage 21, I'm really stuck here. >.< Could you please explain the tactics here a bit more?
You mean 18 or 19? I'll be in the forums only sporadically today -- it's family day for me, and the wife and I scrounged a date night . For more strategy tips, check out the iQuibi forums.
That's 18. Check out the iPad thread: somebody put together a detailed strategy guide for that one stage. Basically, there's a specific order that you need to use to take out the GEARs. Also remember: quick save is your friend .
Eh, even the lower level GEARs kick my ass, I guess I just suck at this. : D Do I really have to kill EVERY of them with just one Tia?
Yep. And believe me, it's doable -- you just need to be judicious about when to attack, counterattack, or dodge, and have a bit of luck (which is where quick saving comes in -- make sure to save right before each encounter). Also, make use of the aptitude ability so that you level up faster.
I keep trying, but it still seems kind of impossible to me. BTW: This is episode 19 for me, I probably made some different choices.
I've been stuck on 7 for days I do great up until I have to fight the Fraghion. That guy destroys my entire squad
I agree it's totally winable. Lost my first attempt (this was level 18 for me as well)... Went back in and tried to be more strategic in my movements- head straight up or down or left or right, get that first kill in with Aptitude for extra experience, and keep using that ability. Before you know it, most of your old abilities have returned and cleaning out the enemies gets easier. I didn't read any specific guide to that level, so maybe I got lucky by winning it the second time through, but it didn't *feel* like luck, it seemed that Tia's skill improvement was what did it for me. Your mileage may vary I never knew there was a quicksave! I have only been saving after battles when I distribute my loot
hey guys i read on the description that playing this on the 4.0.1 or the 3.x solves the crash issue for the iphone 3g can someone please confirm that. i really want to get this game and i don't know if the devs will have an update to solve this issue. sorry if this has been answered but 20 pages is way to long for me
To be honest, I really hate you for this right now. >.< I'm past my 10. try and still can't finish it.
Sorry Might be a problem with your distribution of loot perhaps? What are Tian's stats right now for you? Maybe I just had pumped her up more powerfully than you prior to that battle?
