I don't find it a big issue either, however I do find it unusual that a developer, especially a new one, would make a game for the iPad first and then the iPhone afterwards. I'm more baffled as to why this game hasn't been advertised a bit more, really.
This is a bit off topic, but are there any other SRPG's currently on the App Store? I'm playing through Final Fantasy Tactics on my PS3 and I'd love a similar type experience for my iPhone and it looks like this game may fit that bill. Just curious if there is anything else out there like thsi.
I'm definately going to pick this up! I miss playing fire emblem on my old ds, but it was stolen last year in nashville... Curse you evil robbers. (and I was on vacation)
The closest thing is probably Song Summoner, which is not a bad game, put I personally find the actual gimmick (building up your heroes based on tracks on your iPhone) to be insufferably boring. There's also Rebirth of Fortune, which basically strips the story from FFT and serves up only the tactical component. It's actually pretty good, but there's really no emotional connection with your fighters, which makes for a pretty shallow experience. Another similar game is Future Fight; it has a deeper and more fun combat and leveling system than Rebirth of Fortune, but, again, it has no story to speak of. That's about it, as far as I know.
Sorry to bump the thread, but I just posted gameplay video on the thread for the iPad version and thought people may find it interesting here. I shot an earlier video showing more of a cut scene before the battle, but quality was crap -- feel free to check it out in the other thread. This is from Stage 11 (about 5 hours into the game) out of 50.
Looks awesome and not to mention blatantly better than anything currently available on the iphone/ipod touch, looking forward to the release. Question to those of you who have play the ipad version what is the quality of the overall story? I see some scenes and stuff of the sort going on but its hard to tell when I don't know whats going on.
This is what I wrote in the iPad thread: I'm now on mission 16, and I find that the story is deepening and getting more interesting. The soapiness is also not as thick as the overall mood gets more serious. The developers have obviously put a lot of effort in creating a coherent fantasy/SF world.
I finally got further, i wont spoiler the game by telling how. It's not as primitive as i thought Im in level 18, A reason to right. How can i kill that overwhelming number of bad elementals without the ability to heal?
Haha looks like the developer kinda had a bit of inspiration from Zengar Zonbolt, even the mech looks familiar.
There are eight enemies, two for each element, one is weaker and the other is much stronger. The Thunderbird is capable to deal with the weaker one of the weakest two elements (the Earth, then the Water). Go finding the weaker one of the Earth gear. Use her Aptitude ability before killing enemy. You should easily upgrade 2-3 levels for killing one enemy. Kill the weaker one of Earth, then weaker one of Water. Be careful the stronger ones of Aero and Fire. Save them for the last. Good luck.
