The app version of The Unofficial GameSalad Textbook is now on the App Store. Universal Binary - It works on the iPad, iPod Touch and iPhone. Improved Graphics - The images were improved for sharpness and now most are in color. Orientation - Landscape or Portrait, read how you want! FAST! - I think my app is much faster than iBooks. This app has information for the latest version of GameSalad (0.9.0). I have future updates planned, but that depends on the popularity of this app. Also, if you didn't know already, the basic/FREE version includes support for publishing to the iTunes App. If you need support for iAds or Hyperlinks, the "Professional" version is $499" a year. Here's some new information about the Unofficial GameSalad Textbook... The 1.1 update of the app is now available. This update includes information about GameSalad 0.9.1 - which added support for Mac App Store publishing. The update to the app also includes an Index, making it easier to search the book. I sent a promo code to Touch Arcade. Maybe this site will review the book. Feedback in general has been very good. GameSalad in general is easy to use as there's no coding but can be even easier to use with the information in the textbook. Apple featured the book as "What's Hot" in the books section of iTunes.
Version 1.2 is now available. The app was updated with information for the latest version of GameSalad, which is 0.9.5.
With GameSalad updated to 0.9.71, I decided to update The Unofficial GameSalad Textbook. The 1.25 version of the textbook now contains information for the recent GameSalad update, but I also gave the book a good cleaning. I read through it yesterday... took longer than I thought... but I think the book is stronger because of the editing. I also updated some pictures to match the changes to GameSalad. This update has already been sent to Apple... The update should go live next week. That depends on Apple's review, but I'm not anticipating any trouble. This is the fourth version of this app, so it's pretty routine. So if you already have the app version of the Textbook, an update should be heading your way next week.
The update is live. I'm mad at Apple though. They put the glossy effect on my App listing icon, even though it should not be there! It doesn't effect the app at all, but it really bothers me! This is not likely the last update for this book, so maybe Apple will fix it next time.
The Unofficial GameSalad Textbook was updated to version 1.40. The new version was updated with information for GameSalad version 0.9.88. The textbook also has a new text zoom feature, for improved readability. Apple even fixed that problem with the icon glare.
