If you've played Yoot / Sim Tower before, you'll feel right at home. All the stuff you'd expect is in the game. It runs and plays nicely, but the controls can be a bit tricky. I.e. you really need to 'hold' the end of a floor to pull it out. Just tapping and moving your fingers simply scrolls the screen. Also, it could use a bit more polish here and there. There are some menus that seem... emptier then they should be. All in all: if you enjoyed the previous Towers, you should buy it. Kush New Member Dec 1, 2010 2 0 0 Chicago http://pixelatedsausage.com #13 Kush, Dec 15, 2010 I loved SimTower back in the day and would love to play this game... if I had an iPad. I would like to see an iPhone version, but I also don't know if it's possible to do it justice with such little space... though we do have a SimCity that works on iPhone, so I can hopefully wait. bjornkeizers Well-Known Member Nov 26, 2008 96 0 0 #14 bjornkeizers, Dec 15, 2010 The smaller screen shouldn't be an issue. There is a Yoot Tower game for Nintendo DS. The combined resolution of those two screens is lower then the iPhone's resolution. You couldn't do a straight up port because of the stylus vs. finger approach, but I bet they could make it work. pka4916 Well-Known Member Jun 6, 2009 2,584 0 36 Male Wisconsin #15 pka4916, Dec 15, 2010 OOH.... City is probably more polished but not very engaging to me so far compared with Sim City 2000. The maps don't seem very big because there's not so much detail level tweaking you can do. Tower has potential but the translation is poor, the UI is a little clunky and the dialog boxes look unfinished. There's also a lot of waiting around for money to come in with no fast forward option. Besides elevators and stairs you can only place homes, offices and fast food restaurants until you level up so the early part of the game is a bit bare. Please bear in mind that I've been playing both for less than a day along side pretending to work and feeding my addiction to Minecraft so these views are early impressions. djflippy Well-Known Member Mar 9, 2009 4,441 0 36 #20 djflippy, Dec 15, 2010 To offer another viewpoint regarding the translation, I think it's remarkably good. There are some grammatical mistakes, but nothing that should keep anyone from buying it. To be honest, I was thrilled that it included a full game manual, covering many of the intricacies of play; far superior to what you get with most iDevice games. @missalexis - You'll be fine, if you haven't played the original. Not everything is obvious, because a couple controls are not very intuitive, but quickly browsing the controls section of the manual should sort it out. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
