Do I have to be online to play a game if I buy it (games like fallout 3 or KOTOR for example)

 

Nope. Not at all.

 

If you buy something off steam, you have to at least log in once online and set your option to offline mode to be able to play without the internet.(ugh the steam drm )

If i can find a games at the same price from like gog.com or gamersgate..i opt for the drm free versions through them.

Amazon.com also has some amazeing deals on digitally downloaded games...(some with steam codes)

 

Alright cool cause I bought KOTOR last night and I won't have Internet soon

 

The new Xcom game enemy unknown (steam code )is on sale at Amazon.com 24.99. I picked it up, and its pretty good. Not sure if the DLC for it is worth getting? Anyone try them?

Was going to put up link to current sales but not sure the rules about linking stuff like that...so ...go over there and check them out..some good deals on downloadable games/steam codes..

Controller question?

With Big Picture in place, I'm looking at hooking a spare PC to our large widescreen TV and am looking at new PC controllers since all my old gameport ones aren't functional with Windows 7.

Currently debating between the F710 and XBOX 360 wireless controllers.

I have a feeling everybody will say 360, but does anybody have suggestions?

PS> I'm cool with suggestions of cheaper controllers since P2 will be our 3yo daughter - not a very serious gamer (yet!)

 

I just wish Steam would add more fighting games for the PC from XBL. I need: SSF2Turbo HD Remix, 3rd Strike Online Edition, Marvel Origins, Vampire Savior, etc etc. All of them.

 

That's not really Valve's decision, it's the developers/publishers
