Yeah.. but i highly doubt they will make us pay now.. I think the video in the Apple presentation was just an example of how in-app purchases would work.. lol.. I can't wait for this!
i think they do...except for maybe an initial set of furniture and clothing and etc, but im pretty sure they will make us pay for basically everything
will you still be able to make your own house? or will you have to choose from one of EA's pre-made houses?
They said the payments would be if you didn't want to wait for your sim to earn enough money, and they had better have cheats.
very nice now ive seen this, its made me want it even more! i really cant wait any longer, i need a game i can just play on my ipod, no stupid plot to it or levels, just the game. june 2 is too far away! lol
I think that's fair, in a way... I mean, I bet the game will sell for $9.99 on the App Store, but on other platforms it will sell for much, much more. It's kind of a great way to give people who just want a casual experience the opportunity to play the game, while still allowing hardcore fans the option to purchase a richer (no pun intended) game experience.
WRONG! lol i just had to It's an iPod! The quality isn't as good as console versions (it's still very, VERY good tho) but making us pay for little things is an epic fail!
You really hate DLC? Anyway, I think you've missed both his and my point. We were both saying that the PC/mac versions will sell for $50 compared to $10 (most likely) for iDevices. I guess this version will be less feature rich, but thats a big cost difference (1 fifth of the price). And that make up for it EA can offer OPTIONAL paid content - note the key word: OPTIONAL for those that want it i.e casual gamers. You will still be able to play the game without these optional extras for no extra cost.
I'm certain that they will add the "pay for items", because at the convention, they stated that in Touchpets: Dogs, if you want to buy item packs, you need to use real cash, also, someone who works at Apple said that they were going to use cash to add more levels to a app. For example, Brothers in Arms: Hour of Heroes, if you want more levels, then you will have to pay real cash for a update, though it seems unfair, developers have to make some money somehow.
I think the idea is that without the DLC, we would have been getting those items for free. And now we have to optionally pay for what we'd have been getting before.
And the fact of getting a half-baked game for 9.99 only to find out we have to pay another 9.99 for the rest of the game.
But they stated that all of the content available via DLC will be available ingame for simoleans, but you you'll have to wait to get enough of them (no problem if they include cheats).
Well, thats some good news, when used correctly DLC can really add to the gaming experience well, as long as it isn't abused.
Ahhhh.. I see your point.. Now I know what you're takling about.. You do have a very good point.. Great thinking!! lol..
Well it is coming out June 2, which is only around 2 weeks from now. I don't think EA can release any more news on this.
Ya its talking about the sims 3 trailer shots inserted into the video. Not the gameplay shown. Im still not worried about this though as i am getting the PC version. I was surprised that this is a mini version. i though it would just be a sims 2 for ipod. But they are doing the whole open neighbourhood thing.
