Seems like the reports were from around 15-25 hours. Yes, there are a whole slew of graphics options. My ipad has everything on high except for bloom lighting which even ipad airs can't handle. My screenshots are all severely compressed here. They do no justice for ipad retina. Would be happy to email you an uncompressed screenshot if you like. This should be a little bigger I think, though still compressed. http://i.imgur.com/T26PRhWl.png Overall, I think the graphics are good, maybe a little stiff, but pretty impressive if you ask me.
15 pages of comments and I still have zero idea what the game is like. At this point in time storage space is more valuable than money - I will sit back and see what people think of this game. It looks like a 3rd person NWN, how does it compare to say... Oblivion?
I wasn't complaining at all. Just asking. I mean, i don't expect any graphical additions, post-processing is already there. And ofc i think it's weird a 3 year old device can handle effects at a smooth framerate in a game which runs on an 3GS whereas a brand new device can't. I guess i'm still dissapointed (looking at GTA:SA and now Ridge Racer, too) and accustomed to have all the fancy effects on latest idevices. But ye, maybe they will optimise it in near future so who knows?
Yeah, there are optional character packs for mage/warrior/rouge and one for hints each one is a buck. I think they would make the game easier, but I can't answer cause I didn't buy one. I might get the warrior one, the warrior is easiest cause he is just hack and slash. Mages seem the most enjoyeable, cause there are tons of spell buttons, but right now, I am liking just hack and slash. The rouge seems enticing too with stealth aspectd. Lot of variety to the game. Could see replaying the game 3 times with different characters if one wanted. Anyway, very highly recommended. First time I think I have ever seen a thread go with no negative impressions. Everyone seems to love the game, and I think it's great fun too.
From videos and forums posts, it seems to me TSS is an amalgam of NWN-style tactical gameplay, and twitch action akin to Ravensword: Shadowlands (or Skyrim, or what have you). But not necessarily the better of both worlds. Am I correct in the assumption that there is a manual attack button that has to be pressed for every strike, but no actual detailed aiming (the character attacks the closest enemy in front of him), and no manual evasion or blocking? (I like quite a bit of twitch in my RPGs, but only if they actually go all the way to a detailed melee system. Otherwise, I'd rather see NWN/BG-style tactical party realtime play, or Fallout/Wastelands 2-turnbased contemplative combat.) I'm also surprised to see how forgiving a channel TA suddenly has become when it comes to the inclusion of peculiar DLC in a premium game I assume the Character Packs have quite an effect on the game, to be sold separately, but I don't quite understand how, and what we miss out on by not buying them.
Anyone else wish there was a floating dpad? My finger seems to slip off the movement pad, the bottom left one.
I was also a little surprised by this. Are the weapons, armour and mini games (rogue pack apparently) from the IAP packs available in a normal play through?
Yes. Makes the controls feel unresponsive at times even though it's my fault perhaps, for not being able to keep my darn finger on the virtual stick.
On the 5s turning the lighting setting on high works fine for me. I've been playing for about an hour with no slowdown. Of course the screen res is significantly lower than an iPad. Great game for anyone who loves western ARPGs.
Checked out the screenshots - thanks for that. Does look great, but yeah I get that 90's PC game vibe. Might grab it tho... I do like a good RPG
Just wanted to thank the devs for an awesome game! I'm playing as a rouge right now and I'm loving it! So far the only suggestion I have is the ability to quickly compare stats of items that vendors are selling with what you currently have equipped.
questions about DLC Sorry for this as it is probably a newbie type question. If I purchase the game and one of the DLC, say, warrior pack, on my iphone and then later want to play on my iPad, will I have to purchase the DLC again? I know I can just download the game from the apple's cloud onto my ipad, but will the DLC also be available? How will I get the DLC? And, with no cloud save, I will start new characters on the iPad. That is OK.
Game crashes on iphone 5 on start. It worked originally then I quit and now crash fest. I deleted rebooted reinstalled rebooted phone, and still the game crashes any ideas?
