Enjoying the game very much. Graphics on iPad air are very nice and no glitches so far. I am only an hour in but have done most of that hour with 3-4 difference builds. Settled in on a Ranger type with a long sword and bow focus. Took lock pick so I can use the tank early on instead of the rogue. I do wish some pretty standard RPG game features where implemented. Really need a better way to compare equipped items with stuff you pick up. Floating boxes with the two items side by side is pretty standard these days. Also miss having a mini-map or at least a button to quickly get to the map from the main UI. Also I would really like the area on the right of the screen where you can swipe to pan to be lower. Feels like I have to reach too high on the iPad. Nits aside I strongly recommend the game and hope the devs keep expanding this game and universe!
@Xibalba – We’ll be looking at doing iCloud saves. @Nekku – Thanks for the info. We’re looking into it. However, I did see one fan on our Ossian forums say that turning the Auto Focus Camera off in the settings actually helped. Can you try that and see if it helps? @rjpogi1 – Yes, it is possible. You can pay for it, use your Persuade skill, or use your Intimidate skill (just make sure you look at the simulacrum statue first before doing the latter two). @Magnum0ik – Thanks for the info. I have added it to our bug report on this issue. @Greg G – I have added both the item compare and the mini-map quick button to our feature list to look into. As for the camera swipe area, it already goes down to the bottom right corner of the screen during non-combat. So there isn’t anywhere lower we can go.
Its really cool to hear that so many of you are enjoying the game! It does mean a lot to us. Some of you said you were initially hesitant about getting it. Was there something we could have done to make you less hesitant about buying the game? It would honestly be good information for us to have.
There is such a deluge of games out for iOS that people are wary. This game was a major blip on the radar many months ago, but enough time passed that the name no longer rang any alarms. What the guy said above, that it looked like a PC game, well that is true. It can make people a hair suspicious, but we have been spoiled by dozens of very flashy Unity engine games that rarely had much meat on the bone. It isn't until you play the game for just those first few minutes that you realize and remember that a game is so much more than the shaders and gloss. You laugh at your suspicions and dive in. Perhaps you guys should pull a Foursaken and release a short section of the game for free? If you believe in it then a demo should sell the game where screenshots and video might not. Without the actual immersion, it is tough to 'feel' the scope of the engine and game. The 'old school' look to everything is actually very soothing, it takes one back while still showing plenty of muscle. I am putting this game aside until I can focus on it completely - just glad I grabbed it. I wish you guys luck, only because the App Store is such a lottery regardless of quality of product. One thing I would suggest in the future is to avoid 'surprise releases', because that is what this most certainly was. It would have been *much* better to coax TA into a front page article a week before release, a big "Remember this? Well it is HERE." As it was I and many other people didn't even remember the teaser stuff from last summer or so until the first page of this thread, which was peppered with "you mean THAT game?!".
Being an "over-the-shoulder" / realtime RPG makes avoiding close combat difficult for my mage... Would some points in Strength and maybe Shield skills for a "Battlemage" build be a good idea?
Yes, as the post above mentioned, more prerelease info probably would have helped especially with so many apps in the appstore.
Interesting on the swipe area. Guess it is not always very responsive on my iPad Air then. I have the settings at the default values.
I know this isn't related to this game. But how does this stack up to Star Wars kotor? I downloaded shadow sun and kotor and been playing the s**t out of the latter. Wanted to finish one before starting on the other. Just wanted to know how you guys compared the two RPGs. Is shadow sun similar? Or even better?
I certainly missed this in the deluge new releases, of stuff going on sale and being away visiting relatives over Xmas. It's only today that I have finally gotten sane Wifi & decent broadband and of course the 20% holiday reduction is now finished.
Hi, I see that the developers're replying in this thread. I encountered a bug that will crash the game if I save while wearing hats ( The reaver, Watchguard's helm) and sometime character,NPC're blinking. could you look into this matter? Other than that the game's very enjoyable, thank you.
I have not yet played TSS, so take this under advisement. Comparing apples to oranges. TSS would be better compared to Aralon or Ravensword on iOS. KOTOR is one of the best RPGs on any platform. Period. The focus is on a story-telling experience based in the Star Wars universe with excellent narration, superb characters and moral conundrums that shape your character with regards to the Force. KOTOR allows for a wide variety of different character builds (classes, skills, proficiencies and force powers), with a wide variety of different weapons and armour, using a turn-based combat system. KOTOR was a AAA title (in terms of development, cost and production values) back in its day, and is a Pc title ported over to iOS. TSS seems to be similar to Aralon with respect to creating an Elder Scrolls lite experience; albeit with a stronger narration and setting than Aralon.
Oh okay. Yea I got totally immersed in kotor when it went universal on ios. Totally forgot it came out ages ago and I missed that train as I wasn't into gaming back then. You are right It would be strange to compare the two. As they are totally different one being an old AAA port and TSS being a mobile game. But from all the positive reviews it just got me wondering how TSS would stack up/compare to kotor as an rpg on ios seeing we don't get many worthwhile games or rpg on this platform with most of them being shallow time wasters. Guess I'll just have to finish kotor and start TSS and see for myself
Better games on ios, but play store loads things faster and doesn't constantly hang like the appstore.
