@Bill Harper thank you for taking your time in reading posts and questions! this is the best game that i bought this month, gonna recommend THE SHADOW SUN to all my mates! cheers!
@Bytebrain Sorry to hear about your discomfort. I dont think floating buttons are in the cards for this game (probably in a future game). @rjpogi1 Max lighting detail will only run okay on the iPad2, iPad mini, and iPod touch 5. We had hoped that the A7 could handle it, but it wasnt able to at its 2048 display. So dont use Max lighting on the iPad3, iPad4, iPad Air, or iPad mini with Retina. @Nekku Sorry youre having problems. Weve tested the game on many devices and havent seen stuttering. I actually use the steering method myself to play: both thumbs on the screen, left hand driving, right hand panning the camera left or right. Ive never had an issue with it. 1) What device are you using? 2) How much GB memory does it have (e.g., 16, 32, 64, 128) and how much free memory is left? 3) What iOS version are you at (e.g., 7.0.4)? To find this, look under Settings -> General -> About. @eventide Has this continued to happen to you during your play-through after the 2-hour mark? If so, can you be more specific as to when and where you see it? 1) What device are you using? 2) How much GB memory does it have (e.g., 16, 32, 64, 128) and how much free memory is left? 3) What iOS version are you at (e.g., 7.0.4)? To find this, look under Settings -> General -> About. @returnity Regarding setting the lighting to High, perhaps in hindsight we shouldnt have kept the High setting that uses the bloom post-processing effect, just because the assumption is that the latest device should be able to run it (its a fair assumption). That shader was already optimized to the max, so nothing more can be done in that regard. On controlling the camera with your thumb, can you see if theres a difference between 1) slowly moving your thumb in long swipes and 2) quickly moving your thumb in short flicks? @smugpugd Is there a necklace in particular that this crashes on? Is it the Ice Princess Amulet that shadowgamerr reported below? Regarding save games, I just tested this and dont have any crashes. Can you please tell me: 1) What device are you using? 2) How much GB memory does it have (e.g., 16, 32, 64, 128) and how much free memory is left? 3) What iOS version are you at (e.g., 7.0.4)? To find this, look under Settings -> General -> About. @Conniejeff Hi Connie. Got your email message too, so Ill get in touch with you directly about troubleshooting and getting a crash log. @Amenbrother Even playing as a fighter or mage, you can still choose the lockpick skill. @shadowgamerr Thanks very much for the good bug report. Well file it on our bug tracker to fix in the first update. @rjpogi1 Thanks for supporting indies like Ossian!
Happy Holidays everyone! Heres a round-up of all the latest reviews for The Shadow Sun, with a slew of positive comments. So far, were averaging an iPhone Quality Index of 8.2! http://www.ossianstudios.com/
Hats off to the devs - love this game. As a long time player of both pen and paper and PC RPGs, I can tell you that this game hits the sweet spot. The depth of both the story and the gameplay are extremely impressive. Thank you all for the excellent experience! PS: The only thing on my Christmas wish list for this is a cloud save option. I'd love to be able to continue the game I started on my iPad later on my iPhone. Thanks again! Mike
Loving this game so far!! Hats off to Ossian Studios! Keep up the great work - can't wait to see what's next!
I don't only love the game, but I love the dedication to its players. Kudos and an absolute recommendation!
I felt a bit hesitant in buying this game after Sanuku's video but after buying and playing this for a couple of days am very impressed with this.I do think this has a strong feel of Neverwinter nights myself especially the second one.For me this is definately one of the best rpg's on the appstore.
1) iPad Mini Retina Wifi 2) 16GB - 4.5GB left 3) 7.0.4 non jailbroken There are still other ppl in this thread who have reported this issue. As some of the posters already said: it's like there are "holes" on the right side of the screen were it doesn't recognize your taps if you press the screen in these spots.
Is it possible to finish the simulcram of bol without harming anyone? I tried running away if a fight was triggered after stealing but i can't exit the auction house. I even tried activating stealth then stealing but it again triggered the fight with the guards. How can i get the simulcram without hurting anyone
Glad to see more and more attention to this great action rpg game. It really deserves alot of recognition for a great story and a lot of rpg diversity. Great mix of both arcade like action and pc like rpgs.
Just finished the game with a lot of side quests done, i think i only left out 2: the one with the books and the one with the museum. But i didn't reach 10hours game time as noted by the savegame. Not even 6hrs but i think a DLC or expansion or sequel is coming
Trying to decide whether to get one the short sword mastery skill or the ranged weapon mastery skill when making a rogue. What's everyone's opinion when'splaying as a rogue? Are ranged weapons fun?
Hi - thanks for your response. i have an ipad air 128gb, iOS 7.0.4. I have not been running on the highest settings as I was aware there are issues on the resolution and ipad air with the top setting. I have tried on the bottom settings and what I am mainly finding is more not jerkiness as this goes but when running, the sensitivity on panning is removed I.e. I can only do one action at a time - I can pan when still or not pan when moving. I have restarted and also removed items running in the background. I have not done a memory reset as the device is so new.
Must be cool to have 128 gb. I think the dev in past posts said that he will try to add a panning sensitivity option. I think that would help alot with what you are experiencing.
I was a little hesitant but bought the game on faith. Not sure how to properly describe this, but don't go by the screenshots or gameplay videos - the game adds up to a lot more than the sum of its parts, it has an 'old school' feel but by no means does it feel dated. Anyone who was on the fence will say "I can't believe I almost missed this".
Yeah, that's what I've been saying all along, the graphics look wonderful in ipad retina, and though it does have a pc look to it, I still enjoy the graphics alot. But you are right, it is a game people shouldn't miss, especially if they like action rpg games.
