to those who already finished the game, how long is the main story plus some side quests? p.s. @Luke Scull what devices can max the lighting detal without taking a huge fps hit? im playing it right now with my Ipad mini 2 and it's unplayable on high lighting detail
pls do something about the controls. I rly have a hard time to move the camera around. It's stuttering and far away from smooth (still talking about camera movement). It seems like there is also some kind of delay after every action i'm doin' like start to moving around my char and moving the camera at the same time. It's impossible. Mhm...i'm not that impressed at all, sry.
Loving this game so far, works fine on my 3GS. To my mind a compelling story driving the game forward outweighs any negatives from the graphics not being as good as some other games in the App Store. Have you tried turning the blooming effects off or the the graphics down Nekku?
It's not the graphics. Don't know how to explain but most of the time when i move the camera it just stops and i have to lift my finger and tap on the screen again to move the camera further. I'm used to "steer" my char with the camera in every third person game but i just don't get it to work in that way in this game :/
Finished game at 8h 20 min with almost all side quests except geezous hope i didnt find kassite rose.
I'm trying to diagnose this so I can make a bug report, but I'm having trouble picturing what's happening. Ok, normal movement and panning (at least, how it works for me): Left thumb on the arrow-circle at the bottom left. I move it slightly in a direction, and the player moves that way. Usually, slightly up so they're constantly moving forward. Then I hold that position w/ my thumb, and he keeps moving along indefinitely. Right thumb swiping lightly across the screen. Right swipe pans the camera right, left--left, up looks up and down looks down. When swiping the right thumb right or left while moving forward, the player turns right or left heading directly into where I pan the camera. Steering with the camera, as you say. Running into an obstacle (crate pile, wall, etc) stops the movement. @Nekku, which part of this is not working right for you? Or, is it all of the above?
And i having trouble to explain such techy things cuz english isn't my first language D': Okay, it's not the character which abruptly stops, it's the camera movement. Most of the time it doesn't recognize my thumb swiping over the screen. I have to tap and swipe the screen multiple times before my thumb is recognized and the camera is actually moving. This is the worst part of all. The second issue i have is the following: I'm playing on a iPad Mini Retina so if i have to rotate the camera let's say 180 degrees, i usualy swipe my thumb as far as i can before i...before i...man, how should i explain that ...okay look, the screen is kinda big and my thumb is kinda small in comparison to the screen size so i'll have to...repositioning(is this a word?) my thumb to move the camera any further, right? So i swipe the camera - repositioning my thumb to swipe it any further but then my thumb isn't recognized again. I have to wait for one or two seconds before i'm able to swipe the camera again...phew *exhausted*
I'm experiencing the same thing on Ipad Air.. Camera movement is such a pain for otherwise a great game! Also the top of the line hardware cannot handle high lighting effects? Maybe there is a need for better optimization...
Most likely a dumb question, but where the heck can you sell stuff at? I've spoken to various merchants, and I think I spoke to one that seemed like they had an auction, but I've not seen an option to sell anything with any of them. I just finished the Gorge quests and am level 6, is this an option maybe later on?
Pretty solid game but really glitchy on an ipad 2. Walking through walls, npcs disappearing, enemies freezing while being attacked just from about 2 hrs in. Will or does this support a controller?
Any merchant you talk to should have a Sell Option. When the store interface opens, at the bottom left should be a Sell button. Click this, it switches to party inventory screen. You should see a list of your items. Next to each on the left margin is a gold symbol. Clicking this is a "quick sell". You can also click on the item tab, and ehe description opens. Here you'll see options for Sell Item. Sell More/Sell Less appear when you have more than 1 of the item. This goes up/down until you hit your max (Sell All).
Thanks for your efforts at explaining the problem. Now I understand. It's not panning fast enough when you slide. Perhaps we should consider a slider for camera panning speed? It's also lagging, you say? The lag may 'possibly' be from another source, as we've already heard reports of this on the Ipad Air and Mini with High Settings and Bloom. I will get this reported. As for controllers, there have been enough requests that I think we'll have to at least consider supporting them.
These are all symptoms of lagging. Even the walking through walls is being caused by lag--I noticed this penomenon in our testing as well. Are you using the standard (default) graphics settings? Are you running any other apps in the background?
I saw your report come in, but was answering @Nekku's at the time. It's possible that one is causing the other. Trying to run the device on the high settings might be adding lag that makes the camera more difficult to move. Just for sanity's sake, try setting the graphics to low and see if the camera performance improves. This should at least give us a starting point to fixing this. @Everyone: Thanks for all your diligent reports! Any information you can provide us with will help us to make this a better, more enjoyable game experience for all.
I have all graphic settings on high, except lightning (medium). I have set it to low (all three) but it still doesn't recognize my thumb fairly often. Seems like it happens less then on high/medium settings but i could be wrong. It's weird and even on low settings -sry, i can't help myself- it just doesn't feel smooth The camera movement is kinda laggy even on low settings whilst the framerate seems to be okay. (But i definitely won't play this in low settings on a top line device). Have to sleep now, it's already 11:30pm here. Good night.
The camera problem isn't related to gfx settings. It's just unresponsive at times regardless what setting I use. It just doesn't even recognize my thumb to rotate. It's like there are black holes on the right part of the screen, where it doesn't recognize that you're trying to change the view. The lag is definitely a separate problem in my case. My Air runs the game quite beautifully on med. lighting settings, but as soon as I turn it up to high it starts to lag dramatically. And as I've stated before I experince camera rotation problems on med settings, too where the game doesn't lag at all
I will close other apps and see if that helps. I'm playing with graphics on high. I'll put them on medium and see if that further helps.
I've had that problem too. Been killed several times because the camera wouldn't turn enough for me to see an enemy attacking off screen.
Great, thanks much. Not sure why I didn't notice merchants before, but I found one in the Diamond district. Game is pretty awesome, I'm hoping it's not too short.
