Just wanted to throw in my two cents for anyone on the fence about getting this. If you like western style RPGs like Dragon Age, you need to get this. I'm really loving it so far. At first, I found the graphics a little jarring, but it's soon forgotten in the great story, gameplay, and how smooth everything runs. Definitely one of those games I'm having a hard time putting down. Thanks for working on such a great game!

This is the closest thing to an offline World of Warcraft on an iPhone I've found. Love the storyline and the relatively small file size for such a graphics heavy game. Awesome game!

I have Ipad 3 and Iphone 5, It works properly on Iphone but crashes on Ipad. Hard resetting device and reinstalling didnt help.

It crashes right after Unity logo shows up, btw it seems a bit greyed out (unity logo) compared to Iphone where it starts correctly.

  4. No problem. I kinda wished that Apple made it a requirement that all games on the appstore required icloud saves. That way it would be consistant and we wouldn't have to worry.

Or, better yet, included a system in iOS that automatically backed up the contents of <Application_Home>/Documents/ for each app sandbox in the iOS file structure to the cloud, bypassing the need to require any effort on the part of the developers to enable cloud saves.

I wished for this already back in iOS 3 or 4, and once I realized just how feasible it would be, it is like a perennial unscratcheable itch ;)

I couldn't find your original message about the whole not fishing in the desert. I don't like to argue with a dev but I really believe you guys could integrate a fishing micanic, there seems to be plenty of little fishing stops that would be extremely fun to swim and find a treasure or go fishing like Aralon and many other big time rpgs like this. Please consider this! I don't know how many others feel like me but i don't know how there aren't more people saying the same things I am.

  7. Yeah, definitely, that would be a great way to do it, would love something like that too!

I think most people arent as obsessed about fishing in RPGs as you are ! A vote towards no fishing !

Expressing your opinion is not arguing, not at all. We appreciate feedback. And we do listen.

In my humble opinion, fishing, crafting and the like are more in place with an open world setting like Aralon, or an online server setting, than in a heavily story-driven single-player game like The Shadow Sun. Fishing in particular craves a hunger system to make use of said fish. Otherwise, of what use are your catch besides perhaps a few copper pieces, or inventory filler? Scale mail, perhaps? *quickly dodges the rotten tomato barrage*

This is feedback that will at least be considered, especially if we decide to make the move to PC with the TSS saga. I'm a former craft system author & recovering crafthead from the NWN server days, so you're preaching to the choir. I know exactly how much fun (and addictive) good crafting systems can be.

However, all that aside---there is still a very nice item that can be crafted in TSS, with an ingredient collected throughout your travels. I don't want to spoil it for anybody, so I'll leave it at that. Happy hunting!

I see your point with the fishing and crafting system together, but maybea trophy system could be used with a fishing system rather than a crafting system, for replay value and some extra side fun. On a side note the main and side quests around the town are very interesting and fun, props to you guys. I hope you don't feel like I'm degrading the game.

got question for you, if i may ask.
Since you mention Ipad Air / Mini Retina have fps issues, is it possible to add lower resolution, like its been seen for example in Galaxy on Fire 2 HD some months ago? (i think it was at Ipad 3rd generation release). Or perhaps offer a option to run it at Ipad 2 resolution?

    Cheers

@Sidgoku123 – I know it was a reviewer (not you) – sorry if that wasn’t clear. I was just explaining about how different DLC can be, so I can’t tell which the reviewer was talking about. If you’re good with 10-15 hours, great!

@plewis77 and @Sindaar – Thanks for letting us know. We didn’t see this issue during testing. We’ll start looking into it but we will need your help. If you can email us your crash logs, that will aid us in tracking down the problem. Our email is listed on our contact page: http://www.ossianstudios.com/contact

Here are the instructions for getting a crash log from your device:
    1) Sync to iTunes
    2) Retrieve the crash report from the directory where it was copied by iTunes. Depending on the platform, the directory is:

    Mac OS X: ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/MobileDevice/<DEVICE_NAME>

    Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\<USERNAME>\Application Data\Apple Computer\Logs\CrashReporter\MobileDevice\<DEVICE_NAME>

    Windows Vista or 7: C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\Logs\CrashReporter\MobileDevice\<DEVICE_NAME>

    * <USERNAME> is the user's login name for the computer.
    * <DEVICE_NAME> is the name of the iDevice, for example, "John's iPhone".

    3) You are only interested in .crash files. The crash report's file name begins with the application name and contains date/time information. In addition, <DEVICE_NAME> will appear at the end of the file name, before the extension.
    4) Zip this file and email it to us. Thanks!

@geno11233 – Don’t worry, we don’t feel like you are degrading the game at all. :) As for videos, you should check YouTube to see if anyone’s posted videos of the Rogue Pack gambling minigame.

@PandionDan – Much appreciated! We’ll be looking at the controller support down the road.

@spajdr – I’ve actually never heard of that kind of functionality. I’ll mention it to our lead programmer. But just to clarify, the slowdown comes from using the bloom post-processing effect at the 2048 screen res because it’s expensive. That’s only an optional setting and the game looks fine without it.

Is it possible to give us an option to reposition the buttons in the game?
The move and action buttons is located all the way at the buttom of the iPad which is very uncomfortable for me...

I would much prefer to be able to decide where all the buttons is located, but if that's not in the cards, a floating joystick would at least alleviate some of the pain...
