Does anybody have any tips on the dark tribe / helping hands mission where you have to dig a path to the other armies. the dark tribe attack relentlessly and those wizards change your guys into there team. I cant make soldiers fast enough to defend myself. any help or links to walkthroughs or strategy guides would be MUCH appreciated.

I just reeaaaaaally wish it had freeplay oh well, I'm glad they fixed the saved game bug; I lost two great games because of it...
just completed the level, Build large towers near dark area and fill up withsoldiors they take ages to attack. not sure about how you like to play but i try at least 3 farms to keep loads of food. Keep building residence otherwise all you carrier, builders and dggers get turned into hooded creeps.
Tools? Does anyone know the process for building tools, because when I get to about half way through a level it seems like I can't build anymore. I can still get more weapons, but if I order a shovel, it just sits there. Does anyone know why that might happen?
The description says limited time. I'm thinking Gameloft will let the games get into the Top 25 and then take off the sale. Maybe they have a predetermined length, but who knows really. Might want to consider using a credit card if possible.

I'm going to buy it and try right now. I can post some impressions in a few minutes. I'm usually pretty critical of X2 games on the iPad, but I can let you know what it looks like.
Just to follow up regarding the question about playing on the iPad, it's just OK in my opinion. The game would be awesome with an iPad version. On the current version, the UI takes up a lot of space. The little settler characters are hard to tell apart. And, you really want to be able to zoom the map out further than what you're allowed. Overall, though, the game is an excellent RTS game. I've only played through a few of the early missions, but I think I'm going to install the game on my iPhone before I continue any further.
