+1 Have almost finished with the Viking campaign and still have never used a Gardener. Nothing in the Help system. No idea what they do.
Depending on how good you are at the game, I'd say you could pour in a good 20-25 hours at least. The Roman campaigns took me about 5-6 hours (first 3 were tutorials), the Vikings took me about 9 hours, and I'm in the middle of the first Mayan mission (But, I predict about 9-10 hours in the campaign total.). IMHO, I don't care if free play is added or not, because the game is really, really long and fun (but still, a freeplay would be nice).
The gardener is used in the last campaign, the Dark Tribe. In this campaign everything (trees, grass etc) has been burned or destroyed (by the dark tribe) making the land uninhabitable. The gardener will little by little restore the growth making it possible to build and live there again.
Please Help I am up to the 5th level of the roman campaign and seem to be having the same problem on all the levels. After a short amount of time my coal mines ALWAYS seem to stop doing anything. This results in no weapons being made and eventually losing the level. I have tried redirecting more food to the coal mines and stuff like that, but no change. Also I always check that I have at least one of each building. 1. I would really appreciate it if someone could explain why my coal production always stops? 2. Also is there a way to move the coal sitting outside a tool smith to the weapon smith? I am really enjoying this game so far and just when I thought I had the game play or figured out BAM, no coal. PLEASE HELP ME
Thanks. I have never had any issues with coal production stopping. The one thing that comes to mind is do you have a storage area for your excess coal? Are you putting the coal mine in an area that is "recommended"? Other than that and having the correct amount of the right food, I don't know what to tell ya. As to moving coal from your tool smith to the weapon smith once its already delivered, I do not think that is possible. Good luck.
I don't need a storage area because there is no excess coal to store. The mines function properly up until like 5 minutes then just completely stop. Also no food is taken there, they just stop...... I dont know maybe my game is bugged?
as for problems with coal production... in the settlers 3 there was a kind of protection, when game was silent about being cracked as long as it took player to have iron smelting works built where instead of iron bars smelter was producing... pigs so it was impossible to really play the game
I'm about to download this game directly onto my iPod Touch, how much space do I need free for it to download, as I have heard stuff like 700mb+ Thanks
Coal Production Did you place your coal mine directly on top of the coal markers that your geologists placed? The mine should go right on top of the coal markers, which should disappear after you place your mine. You should make sure there are plenty of coal markers there, too. Those annoying messages you constantly get saying 'This would be a good place to build a coal mine' should direct you to the right place. If your miners have enough fish, meat, and bread, and your mine's coal production isn't maxed out at 8, do you see the miner moving the pan in and out of the mine every thirty seconds or so? If you don't see the pan, it's likely that the coal supply has been exhausted, and you'll need to build another coal mine. You might as well destroy the old one if it isn't producing anything. You might want to try replaying the tutorials. It will only take a few minutes now that you have a better idea how the game works. In the tutorial, the game will not let you build a mine right next to the markers: it must go right on top. Once your done with the tutorials, though, the game will happily let you build right next to the markers, which is unfortunate because you won't be able to mine anything from there. Are your other mines (stone/silver/gold) producing any resources?
i need help guys, ill post what i wrote in a thread i opened ok so in the 3rd chapter of The Settlers it sais to train 8 pioneers to expand the land (or something like that) but ive trained the 8 pioneers and its not telling me what to do next. ive moved them all around the place and they wont move past the red line (im assuming their meant to) and theres no other options to do anything.. i dont wanna start the chapter again, it took a while ive restarted the game and stuff, same problem also i tried it again just before and i moved my guys to the red line and they started digging but then they eventually stopped and wont start again, or theyll dig for like half a second and then stop and walk off to the building that builds the carts this is really annoying
Yeah..at the very beginning i stuck at this objective for quite long even restart the whole mission. In the end, I found out i need to build a vehicle hall & donkey ranch then only the pioneer will be transfer to the cart & migrate to a new settler
First of all thanks for the help I have replayed the tutorials already, to make sure I hadn't missed anything. I am placing the coal mines on the coal markers and he starts working, but then stops after a while...... and all the other mines work, with bundles of food outside as well as whatever resource they are mining. I just cant seem to find the problem, getting fairly annoying now. Anyone else had this problem before ?
hmm but ive already got a vehicle hall, donkey ranch and a cart. do i need to grab the donkey or something?
Hey guys , if I want to build a coal mine outside my settler am I right to say I need to have a migration cart & marketplace so as to build the coal mine? Cause I need wood plank & stone before I can build coal mine
You are not hitting the stop production button by accident, are you tmurp14? It is the first button on the left when you click on a building, whit the hand in the air and a building beside it.
U will need 8 pioneer 4 planks 8 stones 2 hammer 2 carries 1 cart 1 donkey So make sure u got your toolsmith working out
Pickaxes Your iron smelter needs iron and coal to produce iron ingots. And your toolsmith needs iron ingots and coal to produce tools. If you use up all of your pick axes for stone/iron/gold mines before you start your coal production, you won't be able to produce coal. If you can't produce coal, you can't build tools, and if you can't build tools, you can't build pickaxes. Are you sure you have enough pickaxes? How many pickaxes are in your inventory? Also, how do you know that your coal production is working but then stopping? Do you see coal being generated as an output, or do you just look at your inventory? If you're looking at your inventory, perhaps you are mistaking your starting coal with the coal you are producing? Finally, are you sure that you're building your coal mines on the coal markers and not the stone markers? I'm just trying to be thorough.
